is it the bone that feels like there is pain, or the muscles around it? several factors could be included in this pain, as the people above stated, bad posture, how you walk, stand, sleep, all those can have an affect on your pelvis..
my advice go see a doctor about it, and if they can't find nothing wrong, then i suggest to go visit a massage therapist, they can do a postural assessment and work the muscles around the pelvis to find what ones are causing the pain or it could be a tight group of muscles somewhere else in your body that is makin the pain come from the pelvis.

It may be because of bad posture. If you slouch you may have put stress on you sacrum. That's a bone right above you butt. I would go to a chiropractor if I were you just to make sure that's really what it is. For now, take and Advil and elevate you feet about 6 inches from the ground and sit up straight. If you're on your bed and sitting up; put a pillow under your legs and behind your knees.

Have you asked your doctor? There are any number of possible reasons for this, but you need a doctor to find out why.
