I believe my migraines are weather related. I get a nasty one every time a storm rolls in. I've tried sinus medicines, excedrin migraine, advil with coffee, a humidifier, nothing works. My head hurts so bad and I get so nauseaus I throw up. I was wondering if prescription migraine meds have any effect on weather related migraines, and what side effects they have? Can someone on birth control take them? Thanks.

i am 30 years old, i had a spinal fusion & instrumentation in 1999, ( for scoliosis, had to have 2 metal rods put into my back) in 2001 i was dianosed with having m.e/c.f.s, for which i have had lots of support, but for the last 3 months i have had the most terrible neck pain, ( was prescribed co codamol & seractil for) along with numbness in my fingers,it started of like a terrible ache but over last few days i keep getting shooting pain when i move my head in a certain way. i have physiotherapy with a specialised c.f.s. physio once a week along with acupuncture. i also have pain in my shoulder, inside elbows, lower back, my G.P has referred me to a rheumatologist. some nights i have to sleep with a neck collar on for support. does anyone have any recommendations on pain relief which doesnt involve medication?
many thanks.

I have been suffering with an extremly bad back for the last 9 weeks. My Dr had been treating it as acute muscle spasm for 7 weeks but now fears I have a prolapsed disc (also pins, needles and numbness in my leg all the way down to my toes) He wants me to have a MRI scan and physiotherapy but could take at least 12 weeks to be seen.
I can't stand the pain and discomfort any more so am thinking of seeing a chiropractor, Has anyone had any experience of them and more importantly do they help.
Thanks.

I find that on days when I'm mad busy and I can't always squeeze in proper meals, I tend to pee a lot more. Very dilute, varying amounts. It's always been like this. It's not an illness or symptoms - and is not worrying me, I've just always wondered...anyone else find this?

my mum has carpel tunnel syndrome, she has had injections to help it but they never worked so they booked her in for an operation on it.she then also developed a lump on her ankel that the said was a ganglian and they would need to cut it out so they will combine both operations into one.they told her they will keep her awake through this as she has brital ashma, enphysemia and that putting her asleep could cause a servere ashma attack, she went for the operation this morning and they have now said that they aint sure if it really is a ganglian and need to do a biopsy instead.they are also now going to put her to sleep.it really worried me now.what if something goes wrong,,,you hear how crap hospitals are now and can never put your trust in them

I had laser eye surgery about 10 years ago. All has been great but lately my one ye seems to be getting weaker and it is starting to get worse.

Three questions:

1. Does anyone know whether it is safe to have laser eye surgery twice?

3.Should I should go to an optomotrist before a laser eye clinic.

2. Can anyway recommend a laser clinic in London and a good optomotrist?

Cheers in advance.

I sprained both my ankles 3 months ago. I was running and don't know how it happened but I didnt feel any pain, they just became swollen after a few hours. I went to the doctor, he said it's a slight sprain and told me that it would recover in about 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, it has not recovered, I went back to the doctor, he thought I had arthritis but the blood test came back negative so I'm fine. He gave me MC for a month to so that I would be excused for physical exercise in school. But it's been 3 months since and my ankles are still swollen! They look fine when I wake up in the morning but become swollen after a while even when I didn't walk around at all. It gets more swollen when I remove the compression guards to take a bath and the under-side of my feet would ache. I've rested and been a couch potato all this time but my ankles don't seem to heal! I've tried everything from ice packs and all kinds of cream to light exercise but nothing seems to working! Can someone help me?

I believe I have a fever blister coming up on my lip. It is swollen, red and looks blistery. I have been keeping Carmex on it so far. I have been searching through here and have read several Q&A on fever blisters. My question is...some of the answers say keep it dry while others say put ointments on it, which is better?

eva since i got fired from my job last week, nothins been the same. i had problems w a sleep schedule before, but not like dis. last week wasnt that bad. i would stay up online till bout 4am, than go on a phone chatline before sleep at around 5am. usually i can get up at 11am, and go thru da day fine. there is no set time i sleep, n my schedule changes daily. i went w a group on the greyhound to DC past weekend, n got 2hrs sleep on the way, n i slept all day sunday, gettin up at around 5pm. i stayed up till 4am, than went to bed n got up at 11 n got to my class on time(tuesday)...basically i sleep from 5/6am, gettin up at 5/6pm...sleepin most of the time! im always tired when awake too. i kno i got stuff to get done, but how do i motivate myself to manage my time better? how do i build inside myself a normal timer/schedule. whats da best way to split up my time? i do, require 9-10hrs asleep, minimum. i feel sick if i get any less. and i get headaches when i wake up too early in AM....
