General Health Care - February 2007

A group of persons above 65 years of age walked 90 kms. distance at a stretch. They claim that they felt absolutely normal the next day as they regularly walk about 10 kms every day. I think this is absolutely unnecessary and gross abuse of your health which is bound to detoriate with age. Adventures are for those who are young and have continuous flow of strength. What is your opinion?

I have heard of some kind of thing you strap on your back with a weight on it that helps keep your back straight while working on your computer or a sewing machine etc. does anyone know where I could get one of these?

I hurt my back a long time ago and it's starting to hurt again, I found these round white pills I had that the doc gave me and I cant remember if it was a pain pill or a muscle relaxer. Please help. The pill says v on oneside and 3585 on the other.

i have heard of califlower ear in wrestlers, i hit the part right between my nostrils really hard on a can of beans, could i have califlower nose? it feels really tender & bruised and there seems to be an inflammed kinda zitty thing there now...help!?!

I have nice brown eyes, but one eye has 2 flaps above it and the other has 1, i look like some alien with one bigger eye.Pls help me, do i need surgery? It makes me look far less handsome than i could be. And iam really having an inferiority complex these days.Pls suggest a remedy.

My girlfriend has been getting really bad headaches worse then migranes for the last 2 weeks. She went doctors last week they sent her hospital for a brain scan, but the hospital didn't end up doing one and said if they contune come back. This head pains come and go, she has been stressed lately, she is going doctors nest week again but we are very woried, any ideas where these headaches are coming from anyone with similar pains?

Awhile ago I woke up and I had this really bad pain in my low tail bone and It really hurts when I sit normally. I really have to slouch and I look like lazy all slouching and what not...I can't sit on a once comfortable couch much less a hard unforgiving school chair!!!

my lower left stomach is becoming rather painful..so painful i cant walk properly...the pain is shooting up and down my left leg and also my back it is sore when i sit down and stand up and also i find it hard to sleep because of the pain!

I sleep way too much. I can't seem to get up whem my alarm goes off. I can't wake up to regular alarm clocks. I had a buy a trucker's alarm (it's louder than the fire alarm in my dorm room) and it atleast wakes me up, but I still don't get up. Even when I get the 8-9 hours I'm supposed to, I still fall back asleep almost immediately for another 3-4 hours. It's insane.
Is there something wrong? Am I just lazy? What can I do to stop sleeping so much?

I pulled a muscle in my stomach the day before yesturday while having a bowel movement..How long is it going to last??

I have a constant (bearable - but noticeable) knee pain / soreness these past few months, and I'm not sure why.

I do not play any heavy sports or anything of that sort. I'm 19 years old, so it shouldn't be a problem due to age...

It's always a soreness in the front of my knees (maybe bottom half of the front around the knee caps?).

The only thing I can think of would be riding my bike - I don't do heavy cycling or anything along those lines - I simply ride my bike to campus and back once or twice a day - it's about a mile away.

I just started riding my bike to campus each day this past school year. The only thing is I believe the bike is a proper fit - it's comfortable and doesn't seem like the seat is too high/too low (maybe slightly too low but hardly at all). I also stay in a low gear, as only the first couple of gears on my bike actually work.

So my knees usually hurt in the front after I do anything that puts any kind of stress on them - ride my bike, sit cross-legged, etc

Does anyone have stretches or SOMETHING that will help with the pain I am experiencing with this foot problem. I already use custom insoles and a brace/boot to sleep in that keeps my foot in a neutral position. The pain is in the arch and heel, I want to stay away from surgery.

I have one all lined up with an appointment and everything, but they said nothing about my old records. Isn't that something they need? My question is, do I need to go personally pick up my records, or do they have to mail them to the new doctor? I don't think there are any laws saying that I can't have my records, right??

i slipped on ice sunday morning and fell really hard on my leg i'm going to the doctor on friday but its a little swollen and hurts like hell. i cant put any pressure on it so im using crutches from when i broke my ankle a few years ago. do you think i need to see the doctor tomorrow or can it wait until thursday? what can i do to get the swelling down? do you think its broken??

A week ago I week ago I went to the Dr. for a sinus infection that turned into a terrible ear infection. Within 24 hours the pressure of the ear infection became bareable and the pressure since has continued to weaken. I'm now having problems getting the fluid to drain out of my ear. I've tried cotton balls, heat, comress, candle, drops... It's driving me crazy!! Throughout the day I hear it sloshing around in my ear, I just want it to stop! Please post any suggestion that I haven't already mentioned, Thanks in advance!!
