How long are they supposed to stay on and when do you get results? I have worn one for 5 hours yesterday and 5 hours today, it seems a little better but not that great

Here is what I tell my patients about a TENS unit:
wear it for an hour on, then at least an hour off. You will figure out what the best wearing schedule is for you. Usually, the patient will come back in time and say "I wear it 20-30 min, then I don't feel like I need it again for 2-3 hours", or something like that.

Wearing a TENS 24/7 will not hurt you, BUT you will get so used to it that it will become a lot less effective.

Also, were you directed in how to place the electrode pads? You may need to experiment with pad placement if the current plan is not working. Talk to your physical therapist about these issues.
If you currently do not have a PT, go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT", and search your home area.

Good luck!
