I am having the hardest time getting motivated....for anything!! Eating healthy & working out, studying, getting out and meet new people & not spending so much time at home watching tv or vegging out. any ideas as to how i could light a fire under my butt? =)

Both my brother and sister have torn either their ACL or Meniscus or both a couple times each. They did it from playing sports, and now my knee is starting to bother me. I was wondering if there are any exercises to strengthen these tendons, or the areas around them to keep them working and not ripping? Or is it time to call it quits?

I shower twice a day almost every day of the week. Is this bad for you? I shower at night because I absolutely hate going to bed feeling dirty, and then in the mornings I shower because I sweat in my sleep (or the skin on my body produces a lot of oils, not sure which one) and so I don't want to go to school feeling icky, I like the clean feeling.

Hi, The Neurology folks did 2 of those very painful EMG tests on me and apparently I have fairly bad carpal tunnel in both hands and have had for some time. I had a referral to a surgeon but he quit, so I'd need to get another one but in general I've been trying to get by without getting this done, I guess I just don't like doctors very much, but it's been a while now and I haven't been able to get things to improve on my own but admittedly I don't know what to do myself to make things better - any ideas ? thanks

i have been to 4 different doctors for my condition and they tell me i will be in chronic pain the rest of my life, shots or surgery will not help me they say. I have seen pain dr. , a spine specialist, a regular back surgeon , family physician, and then a 4th opinion, they all say the same thing and tell me it is not a disability, but that the pain is disabling, i havent worked in 8 years because of the pain and it just gets worse , i am prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxants, pain patches, ect.It only helps temporarily , my bones r too frail for surgery they say. I was told to go home and do nothing for the next 20 years and then i will be in a wheelchair and maybe they can do surgery then but too risky now . SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME I WOULD LIKE YO HEAR FROM SOMEONE in the medical profession, please help me i am 44 year old white female drs. think i was born this way,,, really desperate

Or something like that and I can faintly hear it wiggliling too. Just my right ear, I dont know if I am going slightly deaf in that ear or what. I can still hear with the ear but It happens quite often. I dont know why. Its really annoying. should I go to the doctor and get this checked out. its been happening for at least a couple months maybe longer (cant remember). Does this ever happen to anyone?

I was recently diagnosed with an ovarian cyst that has been causing a lot of pain, and my doctor put me on Tramadol. It doesn't help the pain completely, but just makes me really spaced out. It also gives me awful headaches. I was wondering if anybody knows if I can take headache medication while I'm on the Tramadol. I need to stay on the Tramadol because the only dosage of non-prescription painkillers that would help would be about 5 pills every few hours, and I don't want to do that. So yes...any doctors or nurses out there that have any suggestions?

I was on verapamil for 6 months with no relief from migraines. I was at a dose of 240mg/day. Now when I try to wean off it I get severe migraines at doses less than 60mg/day. Will the migraines go away after a period of time?
verapamil was doing me no good and caused weight gain, but I can't seem to stop taking it without complications.

My 7 year old son had eye surgery today and I was instructed to give him tylenol or motrin for pain, but 2 hours later he is saying his eyes hurt. Should I apply warm or cold compresses? I am just asking for temporary advice from people who really know what to do. I will call tomorrow to find out what to do. Thanks in advance!
