I shower twice a day almost every day of the week. Is this bad for you? I shower at night because I absolutely hate going to bed feeling dirty, and then in the mornings I shower because I sweat in my sleep (or the skin on my body produces a lot of oils, not sure which one) and so I don't want to go to school feeling icky, I like the clean feeling.

Not at all, If you lived in Australia you would need to shower twice a day on average . There are ways to save water doing this by turning off the water while you soap. The back on to rins or useing a special shower rose that limits the flow of water, both hot and cold

But why soap at all when you can luxuriate in some of those shower gels that pamper your skin and make you feel clean and fresh.

I applaud your approach to personal hygiene., but don't let it become an obsession

This is perfectly fine for most people, but there are some that would have a problem .If you have dry sensative skin, or conditions like eczema, it is recommended to take only 2-3 showers a week, since soap and water can have a very drying effect on the skin and removes the natural oils from your skin. Two of my children were only allowed 2 baths a week when they were young and had to have keri oil in the bath water.

I'm an office worker and a swimmer. I shower when I get up and after I swim, and marinate in chlorinated water in between. I've been doing this for 15 years, with no ill effects.

[Later] Nana makes a good point about skin types. And I should add that I only swim on weekdays, ocassionally skip, and probably don't shower at all on average 3 days/month (lazy Saturdays, or when sick). Also I only apply shampoo once per shower.

No, as long as your skin is not drying out from all the showering, I see nothing wrong with it. I shower twice a day in the summer because I sweat so much. You're right, it makes you feel clean and helps me sleep better.

You know best if you need to shower twice a day to feel clean and fresh. Just don't wash your hair too often and dry it out. Also do not use hot water if you are showering a lot as it will dry you skin out too much. Especially if you have dry skin already anyway. Lukewarm is the best for your skin and hair.

This is bad because you are wasting hot water and it costs a lot of money. Try to keep it to 1 shower a day so you can save money.

a shower does make you clean and feel good.
you sure must be a cleanliness freak in grooming.

but apart from the cleanliness aspect it does soothes away the lethargy in your body
