I've had a cold for 11 days now and was feeling awful the first 2 days and just sounded like I had a cold since then, it's still here and I'm coughing a lot and today felt miserable again, I just drank a vitamin C drink (Rubex) and suddenly feel energised does it give you energy? And are colds meant to last this long?

I have a 3 soon to be 4 year old little daughter, here is my problem. Last year I would say around Oct or so, she developed a fever, this fever would go as high as 105.1 and as low as 99.2. Working in the medical field myself, I know that a temp of 99.2 is nothing to really worry about, but it does indicate that there is the start of something starting. She went to 3 different doctors and noone could figure it out. We even had her to Pittsburgh's Children's Hospital, since thats where I'm from is westen PA. I'm starting to worry again, shes got a fever of 100 right now but shes also got a chest cold. This is how it started out last time was with a chest cold, and it went away, but the fever never did, The doctors tested her from everything from cat stratch fever to pnumia. I am at a total loss. I hate to see my child go thru this again. Is there anyone out there that has gone thru this or is going thru this right now? Please help for the sake of my 3 year old.

My neck feels like someone is hanging off of it. It's a really "heavy" feeling. I didn't injure it at all playing sports, and believe is is due to stress. Ibuprofen doesn't do anything to help, nor does anything else. Seeing that as of late I am extremely stressed out over my job situation, what can I do to relieve this tension in my neck and shoulders. Help please!

Thanks,

Steve

My 88 yr old grandmother recently had a stroke. She moved in with my mother recently because she needs 24 hour care. The family helps out, but my mother needs help (she is physically disabled, back problems) and has been taking care of her for 2 months. Does anyone know of a national agency that provides companionship for the elderly at a reduced price or volunteers ... or if anyone is from Connecticut, what the best services are?

I need exercises for recovering from a mid-back injury (a strain, nothing terribly serious, just quite painful). It seems all the resources I can find only give lower-back exercises. Thanks in advance for any help.

I spilt scalding hot soup down my arm as I took it out of the microwave; I've held it under cold running water for about 10 minutes, is there anything else I can do?

I mean we are biologically the same but our "tolerance" is different. I found out when I was 11 and tore some ligaments and was given tylenol 3 that it took more for me and I was wayyy too young to have built a "tolerance". It just takes more so you run out sooner. That doesn't always mean you're an addict- it makes you one! Who's "fault" is that, mine? Jeez, if you specify, your doc thinks you're "experienced' and it throws up red flags and tries to give you vicodin for punishment.

Besides drinking gallons of water which I already do. Every morning I wake up with a headache, stuffy nose, scratchy throat. I have darker circles under my eyes, and my back often hurts. Once I am able to turn the heat back ( I live with someone who is always cold) I feel fine. Any suggestions?

Hey now about 3 months ago i was taken away by ambulance because i had severe pains there and when i phoned up NHS 24 they thought it could be a possible heart attack and sent out an ambulance.

However when i was in hospital thankfully nothing was wrong they gave me a strong painkiller and the pain went away. Since then i have beeng etting small pains in my right chest that i have just ignored. However i have discovered that whilst sitting for long periods of time it gets worse, and today its more painful than usual. So i have booked a doctors appointment. Do i have anything to worry about?

I just need to relax maybe. I am pretty stressed out and when I lay down to go to sleep, my neck hurts on both sides near the base. I tried Icy Hot, but the pain keeps coming back. Any Ideas on how to relax or to stop the pain quick? I must get to sleep. Thanks!

I have an ace bandage but no fabric for use. I have injured my shoulder and was wondering if anyone know how to make a sling without fabric.

Just curious. is there a limit of pain one can feel? for example, having both you're arms and legs cut off must hurt pretty bad. Can it get any worse?
