I have a 3 soon to be 4 year old little daughter, here is my problem. Last year I would say around Oct or so, she developed a fever, this fever would go as high as 105.1 and as low as 99.2. Working in the medical field myself, I know that a temp of 99.2 is nothing to really worry about, but it does indicate that there is the start of something starting. She went to 3 different doctors and noone could figure it out. We even had her to Pittsburgh's Children's Hospital, since thats where I'm from is westen PA. I'm starting to worry again, shes got a fever of 100 right now but shes also got a chest cold. This is how it started out last time was with a chest cold, and it went away, but the fever never did, The doctors tested her from everything from cat stratch fever to pnumia. I am at a total loss. I hate to see my child go thru this again. Is there anyone out there that has gone thru this or is going thru this right now? Please help for the sake of my 3 year old.

She was tested for sinus problems, and all the other stuff in that area. She has all her teeth. I just dont know, this is getting frustrating to see my child go thru this. They ever checked her for RA. You know"Uncle Arther". I just cant believe that this can happen like this and the doctors act like they dont care.

Ask to have her antibody levels tested (IgG, IgA, IgM). It is a simple blood test and won't cause her any more pain that having blood drawn. The long running fever suggests that her body is working to fight an infection. It is possible that her body is having trouble finding and/or fighting the infection because of a depressed or suppressed immune system. Think about how many infections she has had over the past year? How many times has she had to be on antibiotics? How many times have you had to repeat a course of antibiotics?

I hope your little one feels better soon.

Fevers, especially recurring fevers can be a sign of something ... not good.

Things I've been through with my kids:

Fevers cutting new teeth -- Doctors say it doesn't happen, but my oldest ran high fevers for a couple of days every time a new tooth came in. Once the tooth broke through, the fevers ended.

Chronic sinus infection -- Can be triggered by colds and/or allergies. They could not figure out what was wrong with my daughter, but she ran low-grade fevers and complained of terrible joint pain at the age of 7. When she had an episode, I would take her to the ER so they could run blood tests WHEN IT HAPPENED. Her WBC (white blood count) was elevated, but they still didn't know why. Finally, I took her to a different pediatrician in town who did a sinus x-ray to confirm his suspicions.... and he said it was the worst sinus infection he had seen. She was on strong anti-biotics for six weeks to knock it out. Sometimes they do not completely kill the bug if only taken short term.

The tests they do, or have done will rule things out. They just haven't done the right test yet. If this thing starts with a cold, I would ask the doctor to check the sinuses, and consider an inner ear infection.

I'm not a doctor, but I also know they do not know everything. One doctor might think of something that alludes another doctor.

I hope you find the answer and it is something very curable.

I would suggest you to take homeopathic medicines.
Belladona 200 (when fever comes) 4-5 pills Can be given twice or thrice a day if need be. Otherwise one dose will do away with even high fever.
Also give her Phosphorus 200 (4-5 pills once a day) and Silicea 200 (4-5 pills once a day)
She will be just alright . God bless her
