I woke up the other night at 1:00am out of a dead sleep. I COuld hardly get a breath in and I was very hot. It felt like a could feel my pulse in my head. I thought I was going to die. I eventually fell asleep on the couch, but what would have caused this? This has happened one other time about a year ago. I'm healthy.

You know when you see someone fall asleep and they just twitch or jump and it wakes them, or when you fall asleep you jerk awake...why is that?

I went to my orthopedic for trouble I was having with my knee after x-rays and a mri he informed me I was starting to have some erosion and he wants me to go to a rheumatologist as he fears it might be the start of rheumatoid arthritis. Both of my knees give me problems as well as my hands, shoulders and neck and back but I have assumed it was from sports and the fact that we raise, break and train horses which isn't easy on the body. I have noticed over the last 6 months I am tired all the time when do anything and I hurt a lot more. I am only 36 and have heard horror stories about this matter. Has anyone hear lived with it and what do I have to look forward to.

I get to sleep fine, I have 3 jobs now, so I'm tired by the time I go to bed, but I wake up, sometimes as early as midnight, and don't sleep for the rest of the night. I don't worry or think about stuff as I'm too tired- and don't particularly have anything to worry about, although none of the jobs I'm doing are the one I am trained and want to do. I do all the usual; chamomile tea, baths, lavendar oil etc, but I still wake up. Any advice please?

Hello all,

Just a question. I am a 27-year-old woman and I am wondering if this is normal. Whenever I go to bed or say I am napping whether its a 1 hour nap or I am getting up from a nights sleep I have to hobble out of bed until I get moving more--this has been going on for the last couple of months it almost feels kind of like tendonitis in the ankles, however my calves are so tight when I first get up that they hurt to move as well...I mean I am not 18 but I am not old either is this normal you think or is it just from being stiff from sleeping through the night? cause once i get moving around I can walk just fine and stuff.

just curious--thanks--Jammiegirl

I have a hard time falling asleep anytime before midnight to 1am and need about 9-10 hrs of sleep to feel "normal", but my 2 year old son wakes up at 7 am. I can't seem to get to bed earlier because I'm just not tired yet. I'm going to try using melatonin (1mg) to get my body clock reset. Has anyone tried this? How did you feel? Oh, I have bipolar disorder, and my inordinate sleep need is caused by my medication. I am not "lazy"...

I passed kidney stones for 3 long days and was in absolute agony! Now I think I passed them all, but my lower back hurts so bad that I have to keep taking the pain pills! It hurts as bad as my kidney was hurting all weekend long! If I don't take something to make the pain go away I get all crampy and have runny, bloody stools. I am assuming the blood is doe to internal hemmeroids due to the pain. Do these symptoms go along with kidney stones? I tried to call the doc but the office was closed today...

I dislocated my shoulder a couple of weeks ago, and my arm's been in an immobilizer since then. Because my arm has been at my side basically 24-7, my forearm's numb. My mom, who's a nurse, thinks I might have pinched a nerve. What can I do about this?

I had been horseback riding for about a year adn i started getting a little pain in my tailbone. I didn't think anythign of it until it got really bad all of a sudden. The trauma from the horse sort of built up until it just couldn't take it nemore. I have been to chiropractors, physiotherapists, had acupuncture done, as well as seen numerous doctors including a bone surgeon. Nothing seems to help. I use a dougnut but it still hurts, doctors have said it isn't broken buti haven't been able to ride for almost a year and i reall yeant to get back to it. Sometimes i feel a little improvement but it doesn't really last. THe bone surgeon suggested cortazone (said it is very painful) and mentioned the possibility of surgery but i have heard bad things aboutthe surgery. i just want to fix this so i can ride again... does anyone no what could help??

I've had a backache for over a month now, not bad enough to keep me down but just plain annoying. My question is since my back has been bothering me it seems like I have been very tense, just wondering if this could be due to the back or is it possible for tension to cause back pain?
