could an MRI be of use in determining the seriousness of lateral epicondylitus?

still experiencing some pain with a slight burning sensation within a hands width of my left elbow toward my wrist. Now into my 7th month with this condition. I have already recieved a cortisone shot in my elbow in May 2006

MRI is not usually necessary for lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow. Maybe the injection was not done properly or you have not eliminated the very thing that caused your tennis elbow in the first place. Have you tried physiotherapy?
