They both painkillers from the NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) family. Both are used for the same purpose...general pain, swelling, headache. And have the same side effects mainly gastro-intestinal upset. But in general ibuprofen is more potent. If someone is allergic to aspirin, he may also be allergic to ibuprofen and vice versa

Have her call the pharmacist to clear this up. Aspirin is a form of acid that thins the blood. It also has qualitys that reduce fever and pain. Ibuprophen is a NSAID, which is a antiinflamitory drug without steroids. They are not the same, but they can also thin the blood. Only a pharmacist can answer this question, need more information on the drug that interferes with aspirin. When you guys have questions about meds, the best bet is talking to a pharmacist. I am a nurse and any questions I have I always call the pharmacy to clarify after I research the drugs. They are always willing to help and very knowledgable resources and hav the best equipment to crosscheck every drug you are taking to check for interactions.

No, they are not the same. Both relieve pain, but they are totally different substances. Just as Tylenol isn't the same as aspirin or ibuprofen.........and naproxen is also different. All 4 have the same action pretty much, but are totally different substances.
Each person needs to determine which one works best for them. Ibuprofen seems to work best for me when I have a headache.
No one under the age of 18 should ever take an aspirin medication unless a doctor says it is ok

Ibuprofen has some aspirin in the medicine? It depends on what you need it for and how much you plan to take to stop the pain but that kind is only given by the doctor?

Aspirin and Ibuprofen are not the same. Aspirin is a NS AID, it is a pain reliever, and fever reducer, that works by making the blood slippery. When the blood is slippery it will flow through your veins better, therefore causing less pain. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory. It works by reducing swelling. They can be taken together. Aspirin should not be taken by children, as it can cause Reyes Syndrome.

Actually no. Ibuprofen works mainly on the muscles for pain, and aspirin works on some pain too, but it is also a blood thinner.

Aspirin and Ibuprofen both are NSAIDS (Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs), its just that Ibuprofen is very well tolerated by majority of patients and has minimal side effects in comparison to Aspirin, otherwise both are analgesics, anti inflammatory and anti pyretic.

Go to the website below and type in the name of the drug your friend takes (not the ibuprofen). Interactions should show up.

Kind of ibuprofen is a painkiller but it's made for fevers and head aches that aren't that bad. Asparin is a little more powerfull, but i'm not sure.
