General Health Care - November 2006

I am 47 years old. The past month or so, my hips have been hurting, and nothing seems to bring relief. I've tried Celebrex, Aleve, Naproxin, and Excederine. My next step is going to the doctor. I had a hysterectomy end of June. I don't know if there is any connection, maybe there is. Has anyone had pain in their hips as I described, and actually found out what it could be? It's really starting to affect my quality of life. All I feel like doing is laying down and resting.

There's a bump below my kneecap. It's like it's just swollen a little. It's been like that for about 4 weeks. I decided to ice it and after I did that, it started to hurt. It also hurts when I swing my leg when I walk. It doesn't hurt when I push on it or walk on it.

I've already asked this already so let me answer some more questions:

I'm 23 and the bump is on my left knee to the left of the lower sticky outie (very technical, I know) bone. It's wide and not a small bump.

almost this large (no sign of pus) pimple around the area. I stopped washing it with harsh dial but am still doing hot sea salt soaks. Is it due to sleeping on the area? I'm a side sleeper so naturally it's hard for me to lie on my back. How long does this take to go away? It doesn't hurt so i'm not even sure if it is an infection, any help would be great.

It has been bothering me ever since last Monday night until now. I have tried comforting my knee by pillows, stuffed animals, blankets, old clothings, and anything that is soft. I tried pain relievers/killers not working. Im too busy to go to the doctor because every week I have a quiz or an exam or practice tests and etc. Any remedies or advice?

My mom has a pain on her left shoulder blade on her back. She says its her muscle but she can't even lift her arm up, not even halfway. She says it burns and is a sharp pain. Maybe on her nerve? She didn't lift anything heavy, it just came on by itself and took her to her knees it hurt her so bad. Is this only a tight muscle or could it be more serious b/c she has a few places on her back like this?

today in P.E. , i was trying to do a back walkover and didnt go all the way over and my back pushed on me and my neck and i fell. it hurt sooo bad. now my neck is kinda stiff and i have to move it to the side to crack it. does is it sound bad enough that i have to see a chiropracter? I typically take a shower twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the afternoon or evening after coming home from school, work, or practice.

I've been told that this actually is bad for me, taking a shower more than once a day. Is this true, and if so, what health risks are there in this?

hubby had an accident head on collision with another cycler about 6months ago hes had probs ever since, the docs say he has damaged a part of his inner ear and has lost some of his balance gets dizzy now and again and stubbles sometimes etc they say it should get better over time and have given him some daft exsersises to do but you know what the nhs is like! has anyone else suffered from this any advice

here's my question. i have a mass upper right part of abdomen. seen my doctor, he said it was not a hernia. then he ordered a ct scan. that came back showing nothing. now my dr wants me to see a surgeon. said it could still be a hernia. i should also mention, no pain, ever, associated with this. when i lie down, it goes away. i would think anything serious would have shown up on the ct scan. so should i still see the surgeon, or is it nothing to worry about? why wouldn't a hernia have shown up on ct scan?

At night when I go to sleep, I feel like I want to kick my leg off. I didn't think about it til now. I just want to point my toe then flex the other way, point, flex, over and over. I wish I could just unscrew my leg and take it off at night! Anyone else?

My tendon of my left pinkie split because of a piece of glass... Now I can bend my pinkie but I can't untwist it... I'm scared of surgery but I guess I'll have to have an operation =( Will I ever be able to use my pinkie again? I wanted to learn to play the piano... I want to play my guitar again... Please can somebody tell me if split tendons could be treated or not... I'm very sad...
