Respiratory depression or arrest (the brain can only survive 4-6 minutes without oxygen)

Cardiac arrest, arrhythmia, or severe heart attack (if the heart is damaged, stops pumping, and/or can't pump effectively, then the brain is also not getting enough oxygen, and death can and will result)

Severe cerebrovascular accidents, aka strokes (there is a clot in the brain, or a bleed in the brain, that has the potential to destroy circulation in part of the brain. Not exactly conducive to life)

Severe trauma (The body can bleed out in a matter of minutes, and you can die from hypovolemic shock)

Severe head trauma (if the brain swells, it's a bad thing. Brain trauma can also result in or cause a bleed in the brain, which can cause death)

Severe allergic reactions (anapylaxis - the thoat swells, and the person can't breathe)

Severe asthma attacks (the victim will be unable to breathe)

These are some of the things that I thought of off the top of my head. There are lots more...

Uncontrolled bleeding, not getting enough oxygen to the brain (meaning they need to protect your airway and intubate). Those are the two biggies.

Hmmmm...I find it an odd question. Unless one is dwelling on the idea it would be nice to die but would never want to take their own life.
