General Health Care - November 2006

I fell down the other day playing basketball and used my hand to break my fall(bad idea). I am in a temp. splint put on by hospital and will see an ortho guy next week. The doc at hospital said i fractured my distal radius. Any idea how long I will have to keep it immobilized?

Twice, this week, while wearing my hard contacts, my left eye started to hurt when that eye was open. When I took out my left contact, I noticed the vision in that eye was blurred more than normal. Even when I put on my glasses (after taking out the contacts), that eye still couldn't focus correctly. Not only could I not focus in that eye but it was really sensitive. Like when I was taking a shower and maybe a little water got into the eye, it would hurt. I know that the problem couldn't be with my prescription because I got it changed a couple months back and haven't had this problem until this week. Ok, so now I'm deciding whether I should visit and opthamologist or an optometrist about this problem.

I sprained my left ankle 10months ago. but it still hurts. I am in New York now. Can anyone recommend the right place I can get good treatment and the cost ? I want to have MRI examination too. I had a xray but the result was ok. But i went to acupunture and physiotherpay. but it is going for such a long time and i wanna get it fixed right away. Where is the Good place to go in New york?

I'm interested in a career as a surgical technologist, I think it would be beyond cool to be a part of the operating team. I also think it's a way for me to finally have an outlet for my insane anal need for everything to be neat, orderly and sanitary. I am concerned about jobs and pay. I am training for my first marathon and have found out the hard way that after long distance runs a nasty rash develops on my inner thigh. I have tried wearing special underwear or putting vaseline on the sensitive area before running but neither seem to work. I would really appreciate some advice

I was bitten yesterday afternoon on my right foot by about 10-15 ants. Im not sure what kind, but that area is now red and somewhat swollen, as well as very tender and itchy. The question that I am having is that my foot is numb to touch and feeling. Its not asleep, I've been active all morning cleaning and such, but I am having a hard time because I really can't feel my foot-- Could this be related to the ant bites? If so, What can I do? I've never had a problem with ant bites in the past, but this is the first time in a looong time that I've been bitten. Any advice would help. Thank You!
