If I lay on the floor sitting up and stretching my upper body up then down reaching my toes with my toes pointed up? Or if I lay down flat on the floor, bring one leg up to my chest, holding it, then doing the same with the other?

Would stretching help headaches or is stretching just a way to warm up. I know when you yawn or stretch in the morning, your contracting your blood vessels then releasing and the first morning stretch feels so good huh? SO, tell me. would stretching help the blood flow in my darn head....my head hurts so bad and the IBU and TYLenol hasn't helped after taking it over an hour ago.

Honest advise please.

For screening test that requires stool sample, it usually requires collection of stool sample the night before or the morning of appointment. What happens if there is just no urge to pass stool at these times?

I have puss, and a lump in my earing hole. I haven't worn earing in at least 5 years. It has been a week. I have been putting rubbing alcohol, and ointment on it, but it seems to hurt more everyday.

My son is 5 yrs old and broke his elbow on Thursday. He had surgery on Friday morning to put pins in the bones. The doctor said he shouldn't return to school until this Friday, which means I have to stay home with him. I am missing 5 days of work. Does this sound right? I want to go back to work but I am afraid to go against dr.'s advise.

I had my low back x-rayed, the doc said I have narrowing discs, then she wanted me to get a MRI, so I did, I am still waiting on results but the MRI dude told me it looked like lumbar spinal stenosis. Does this require surgery? Thanks

I had surgery on my neck where a clamp was inserted between two of the cervical bones to keep them in place. I also had low back surgery where I had pins and plates installed between two of my lumbar vertabrae. Prior to this, I was on an exercise program, and was steadily losing weight.

Now, I am almost totally immobile; I can walk for only about five minutes at a time. I can no longer even push a vacume cleaner or stand at the sink to wash a dish. As a result, I have ballooned to 345 pounds (I'm only 5'8") and have since suffered a mild stroke.

I have tried water therapy, and this hasn't helped. Can someone please tell me of a low impact exercise program that I can get into to lose this weight? I'm only 49 years old, and I don't want to die! PLEASE HELP!

but i was dx back in 99 after an endosscopy. at that time i was over 200 lbs i had then lost 150 lbs and had no problems but when i was put back on prednisone i started having gerd again and even with that my food would get stuck in my throat or trouble swallowing which i could not determine that with the myasthenia gravis i been battling for 14 yrs.i am wondeing if the food getting stuck could be from that or from being intubated 2 times in one week whereas it could have created scar tissue, cause that was when it really started giving me trouble, but i cant dismiss the fact that i had it before. is it also possible that a hiatal hernia can disappear when you lose weight and return again or what is this problem or could this problem be coming from. will ultimately go to the doctor but it seems so hard for them to understand what i am saying and i am getting frustrated.

Guys, I injured my finger tonight while to a repair to my house. Basically a aluminum sheet cut my left thumb (right above the knuckle). Its a rather deep cut and the sheet fell about 2 feet directly onto my finger.

I took a shower and clean the cut with soap and water to the best of my ability (to the point that i was about to scream like a 5 year old). My father used povidone iodine (10%)and neosporin on my finger.

no serious pain unless i spread open the cut, i have full mobility with it.

1) no rust on the aluminum, do i need a shot of some sort?
2) is povidone-iodine okay for this?
3) any other tips?

thanks in advance guys.

I am looking into becoming a nurse, and what I was wondering is: Is there a need or demand for nurses in specialized fields like burn wards. Will hospitals (lets say one that has a burn ward) help pay for the required schooling. And (not meaning to sound greedy), is the pay a different for specialized nurses
