Sometimes I'm just overwhelmingly tired and need to lay down for awhile. Then I feel better but then I haven't accomplished a lot. At least after I rest I am able to do things again. What is Chronic Fatique all about?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Epstein-Barr Syndrome is a lymph node problem which lowers your resistance. You can be diagnosed with simple blood tests. Ask your Dr. to do a blood panel with a Mono-panel. Then he might prescribe vitamins or exercise for you. Good luck and feel better. I have CFS and Fibromyalgia and I know how you feel - don't get down on yourself for allowing yourself to work on your exhaustion and not doing another load of laundry!

Usually if it last for more than 2 -3 weeks straight and has started to effect your life than it might be a health symptom. Maybe you are not getting the right sleep at night, even though you think you sleep your brain and body don't and then during the day you just get wiped out. Some times the doctors can help you sleep better at night to releive some of the tireness during the day. It also can be cause by illness, if you were sick for a short time and your body needs to catch up now or that you are about to get sick, and some times it is a sign of other illnesses. You can try a few things, try to limit the lenght of the nap you take to undewr a hour, take a walk or something physical like that and take a comfortable shower and lay down, if you can sleep read a book or somthing relaxing NO TV that is just a stimulate to the brain. If it getts to bad you need to see your doctor about it. Keep a journal, it will make it easyer for the doctor to see your sleep routine or lack of. Good luck

I suffer from this. I get tired and wore out for no reason what so ever. I can be sitting down, relaxing and then just lose all my energy. If you have a fast passed life style getting tired alot does not always mean you have this. Corperate excs, moms ect. are always running around and the body catches up after a while. If however, it occurs more often than not you need to talk to your doctor about it. They can reccomend medications or do simple things like tell you what food to eat and aviod to help get your energy level back where it should be. Good luck.

Try to keep a sleep/food diary for a few weeks. When you go to the doctor, take it with you. Record when you sleep -- how long -- if it is interrupted sleep (such as waking up a lot at night). How you feel when you wake up (cold, tired, warm, rested, etc.)

Do the same with the foods you eat -- record what they are and when you eat them.

If you have sleep apnea, you may feel fatigued during the day because your sleep was interrupted during the night.. If you are having reactions to certain foods, your energy levels may fluctuate throughout the day. If you take this in when getting your check-up your doctor may be able to rule out some tests. He/she may even be able to begin to see a pattern that you might not see right up front.
