General Health Care - September 2006

She cant even swallow them if I cut them in half or crush them. She gags. Im thinking about getting her chewables but im worried they dont have the proper nutrition since they are made for 12 and under. There are also these gummy bear vitamins but also...Im worried they dont have enuf vitamins for a growing teen. Any advice?

My co-worker (who is standing right here) has pain along the backside of her right leg, that seems to be more intense in the back of her knee and hamstring area. It's definitely not muscular...She has a "deadening" feeling with throbbing when she walks, sleeps, sits or stands (basically all the time). There is also a slight "swelling" feeling around her ankle. I'm thinking this is circulatory, but is there anyone out there who has more of an educated theory? Serious answers please....thanks

I had knee replacement on both knees 10 weeks ago.I do not have the range of motion back that I should have.I can do most of the therapy however bending my leggs backwards is just to painful,so my Doctor is going to put me to sleep and manipulate my leggs.Has any one out there had this done to them?

I fell in the bathroom the other day and i have a awful colored bruise on my leg. Its black, blue, pink, and white. Is this normal? What causes them to turn such weird colors?

My son is 12 years old and yesterday he started crying saying that he does not want to grow up. He normally is not a kid that is always crying and there has been two occasions in a week where he starts crying out of a sudden. The first time was because he was worried about failing Math and last night it was because he said that he has noticed how fast time goes and he does not want to get older.

He was saying that he does not want to grow up and have to move out of the house and not being with us. He was also saying that he remembers how we would sit down and watch the crocodile hunter together and now he is dead.

The first question I guess is, how do I explain to him that growing up is part of life and that it is all good?

The second question is, why is he thinking about thinks like this? Could be due to his hormones changing and all that?

Well, basically 2 days ago I woke up with a "scratchy" throat. And a runny nose like water. Now today I still have the scratchy throat a little, but my nose was stopped up last night trying to go to sleep, but runny at the same time. Now today, i have the stuffed up runny nose, but im a little achey, kind of like I have a fever, but I'm not cold and shivering like I have a fever.

Do I just have a cold you think? I went to a crouded dance club on thursday, and it's now monday. Is it possible to catch a cold then and symptoms started appearing 3 days later?

Whats the deal with this...? I'm a college student and don't have a thermometer to see if I'm running a fever, but I doubt I am, and if i am, it is probably low.

I know this is random, but comming back from class to my dorm just now, they were handing out free monster energy drinks... I LOVE free stuff lol. ok hope you can help!

One of my parents had a stroke. Now both of my parents and my grandmother will be moving near me. I live in a major metropolitian area but it is too expensive here for them to live. I will also need to live with them. They are looking at an area near here that will be a two hour commute for me, something I don't want to do. I am able to be mobile in my career and am looking for an alternative. I need some place with a moderate cost of living, a good stroke rehabilitation facility, and respite care for seniors (grandma). If you are not insured will you not receive emergency treatment in A and E? Do you have to pay for this? HOw do they make you pay?

What about if you have cancer or need long term care for a degenerative illness?

Do many people die in the USA because they are unable to afford treatment?

Also I heard that the incedence of TB and pneumonia among the poor in the USA was on the increase because they have no access to healthcare is this true?
