Saline solution.
Boil some hot water, pour into a cup.
Add 2-3 tsps salt. Stir until dissolved.
Leave to cool.
Find a syringe or nose dropper, eye dropper, whatever, then squirt it up your nostrils. It tastes foul (it will come down into your throat), but keep going every 30 minutes or so. It really helps.
Also drink plenty of liquids. Your body needs it to fight the germs.
You can buy commercial saline solution, but why do so when it's so easy to make !
The steam thing (hot water in a bowl, towel over the head) also helps, but saline solution is very efficient. Good luck !

You are in the office, so will try to work with that.
If you have a microwave, nuke some water until it steams. If you have mentholatum, put a dollop in it. A menthal cough drop will work as well. nuke again so that the menthol will dissolve. If you have neither, try lemon, or even plain water.
the next part is a little disgusting but it works (do it in the WC):
Dab a little of the liquid on your finger and apply to the inside of your nostrils. Let stand for 10 - 20 seconds. Blow your nose.
apply again. blow nose. Do it until your nose is no longer stuffy.
It really works.
I hope you feel better soon.

1. Mucinex is a fast working decongestant. It is relatively new on the market. Walmart cannot keep in on the shelves during the cold/flu season. My father, a pharmacist, says it is the best decongestant available. Go to Mucinex.com.
2. Inhale 2 squirts of a saline mist into your nose. It is only distilled water with salt water. You can purchase the mist at any grocer/drug store or even make your own.
3. Eat jalepeno peppers!!! ;)

Fill the sink with boiling water, put a towel over your head and inhale the steam. Hope it works. Also, if you do have to go to the chemist but don't want drugs, try nasal strips. I used them when i was pregnant and they were great.

My method, which is also highly effective for a sore throat (preventing a cold) is to sniff up each nostril diluted TCP (1 part to 5 of very hot water) Boy, it blows the top off your head! but the pain is only momentary. Prayer also helps your body to heal itself.
But I guess you still have to go to the chemist to get the TCP - so I haven't really answered your question!

breathe in some steam. Put some hot water in to a bowl, lean over it and put a towl over your head. it'll help loosen the stuff up and then you can blow it out without it hurting so much. You could put mint, teatree, eucaliptus or albas oil in the water too
