Well, basically 2 days ago I woke up with a "scratchy" throat. And a runny nose like water. Now today I still have the scratchy throat a little, but my nose was stopped up last night trying to go to sleep, but runny at the same time. Now today, i have the stuffed up runny nose, but im a little achey, kind of like I have a fever, but I'm not cold and shivering like I have a fever.

Do I just have a cold you think? I went to a crouded dance club on thursday, and it's now monday. Is it possible to catch a cold then and symptoms started appearing 3 days later?

Whats the deal with this...? I'm a college student and don't have a thermometer to see if I'm running a fever, but I doubt I am, and if i am, it is probably low.

I know this is random, but comming back from class to my dorm just now, they were handing out free monster energy drinks... I LOVE free stuff lol. ok hope you can help!

You could just be suffering from allergies, try claritin D, it will help dry up the congestion in the nose, and that should help with the throat feeling scratchy. Take one every 12 hours, if you still feel achey all over, You probably have a sinus infection, that is treatable with antibiotics. Tylenol sinus works great too. Good luck and hope you feel better.

I would recommend seeing a Dr., if the symptoms remain longer than five days. It sounds like a common cold and they just have to run its course. Get some Chlortrimeton from the pharmacy, take two 4MG and see if you don't feel better. Aspirin is good if you have any aches. For a sore throat, gargle with warm salt water. Drink lots of water and clear fluid only.

Much evidence suggests that stress increases one's susceptibility to a cold. In one study, people with high stress levels averaged 2.7 upper respiratory infections during a six-month period and those reporting low stress averaged 1.5 infections. Stress appears to increase the risk for a cold regardless of lifestyle or other health habits. And once a person catches a cold or flu, stress can exacerbate symptoms.

It is not clear why these events occurs. Some experts believe that stress alters specific immune factors, which cause inflammation in the airways. One 2001 study reported that the only people who got sick after experiencing short stress were those whose body responded to stress with high levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, coupled with a low immune response.

yes its possible to get symptoms 3 days later, sometimes it takes time to go through your body, it could also just be allergies, so take claratin for a day or two to see if it helps if it doesn't, then you probably have a cold, so then you should take tylenol flu its a good medication use the daytime tablets when you're at school and nightime at night drink lots of fluid preferrably orange juice even if you dont feel like it, hope you get better soon
