My girlfriend has had a few pap tests come back with abnormal cells and her doc told her she has HPV. It may be a coincidence but a few days ago my foot started hurting real bad and I noticed I have a plantar wart on the heel of my foot. Reading about HPV I see that it can cause warts to form. My question is if it is related to my plantar wart, how could it spread all the way down there and am I at risk of getting genital warts? Thanks.

We have been together for about 3 years and are really in love. I recently slept with a collegue and long time friend on a work trip. She has had many partners and later told me she has herpes. My medical tests came back positive.

My fiance and I have had intercourse twice since the work trip, however I don't want to risk it anymore? What should I do?

a very close friend if mine was diagnosed a few months ago with herpes. SHe was very upset and questioned how she would ever be able to tell a guy without being rejected. I told her to just give herself time to adjust. Recently she started seeing this guy and slept with him after a week. She said it was protected and that her doctor told her she is only contagious if she is having an outbreak . SHe has never had a an outbreak as of yet. Anyway the point is that she never told the guy she has herpes and they are really hitting it off. I told her when she does tell him tell him she just found out. Still I think she was wrong not ot tell but Ido not want to judge. Who knows what anyone would have done in the same situation what do you think.

Im very scared: About tw months ago, I performed unprotected cunnilingus (male to female oral sex.) on a female. approximately 8-10 days later a rash started to form around both of my nostrils, and they look like fine little bumps very unnoticeable.
They do not itch and they are still on my nostrils 2 months later!!!!!! so 3 weeks later I went to take an STD test, and the results came back in 2 weeks negative for H.I.V, syphilis, etc......so that was good but now my hair is breaking off very easily in the shower, and when I wake up in the morning I SEE ABOUT 6-8 STRANDS OF HAIR ON MY PILLOW!!!! I thought it was stress from waiting on the test results, but my hair is still falling out almost 3 months later! Get this she told me after we had sex that she was 2 months pregnant(not mine) and 1year ago she had a yeast infection that she got rid of. Can I catch something from her being pregnant? or the yeast infection she supposively got rid of? Thanks

My friend recently got tested for STDs. She has been sleeping with the same guy for about a month now. She claims that since she is clean, her boyfriend must be clean too. Her boyfriend has slept with 5 men and 6 women in the past. I told her that he most definately could have an STD, even though her results tested clean, and that she was either 1) lucky that she hasn't caught anything from him yet, or 2) he really is clean. He has never been tested. I would like help in finding an article to explain this to her; that just because she is clean, her boyfriend might still have something. I have searched around for about 45 minutes and cannot find anything that would address this myth.

If you meet a man/woman. Started dating. If she are he told you they had herpes. And you did not. Would you still date the person. B/c of who they are not what they have. Would you reseach on the std and see what's what. Of course eveyone knows it can't be cured but there are ways to treat and control the disease.. So all in all would you give a relationship a chance w/ a person who has herpes??

I am just about to have an HIV test which I have put off for 5 years now since having unprotected sex. I have a permanent yeasty discharge and once had a white patch on my tongue. I want to be prepared for the worst. Does this mean I may well be positive?

What are the chances of a male getting an STD by receiving unprotected oral sex? Assuming he is healthy, no other infections or diseases, no cuts or sores etc. Many sources simply say it is possible to transmit STDs via oral sex so you must use a condom. I am interested in a more detailed profile of the risk involved for a male receiving from a female. Which diseases could be transmitted and what kind of infection rates are shown for them?

I know a friend who has herpes but thinks that because she is taking Valtrex she doesn't have to tell anybody and she is still dating. I tell her she is sick and I can't tell anybody because she is my best friend.

Alright, NOT true. But hey, it got you clicking my question, didn't it? :) OK, well, basically, I have a problem with my penis - and I am a little too friendly with my family doctor to consult with him about it. Neither do I wish to go to my local STD clinic, it's too embarrassing! I know this issue is not STD-related, as I am sexually active with one partner only. The skin around the head of my penis is dry and becomes irritated and itchy very easily, and very often there are dark pink blemishes near the base of the head too. Although not painful per se, it can make lovemaking or masturbation rather uncomfortable. I appreciate that these symptoms might point to thrush, but I have been using conventional thrush treatments for a few months and the problem is barely improving. Vaseline alleviates the discomfort and dryness by providing a little moisture between the head and foreskin, but little else seems to work? Does ANYONE have any SERIOUS suggestions or advice? Much appreciated! :)
