Alright, NOT true. But hey, it got you clicking my question, didn't it? :) OK, well, basically, I have a problem with my penis - and I am a little too friendly with my family doctor to consult with him about it. Neither do I wish to go to my local STD clinic, it's too embarrassing! I know this issue is not STD-related, as I am sexually active with one partner only. The skin around the head of my penis is dry and becomes irritated and itchy very easily, and very often there are dark pink blemishes near the base of the head too. Although not painful per se, it can make lovemaking or masturbation rather uncomfortable. I appreciate that these symptoms might point to thrush, but I have been using conventional thrush treatments for a few months and the problem is barely improving. Vaseline alleviates the discomfort and dryness by providing a little moisture between the head and foreskin, but little else seems to work? Does ANYONE have any SERIOUS suggestions or advice? Much appreciated! :)

It could be jock itch. There are several medications on the market that can help with this.

Here's the thing. You can try any number of random creams and medicines- but until you see a doctor you won't know what it is that you have, and you won't be able to correctly address the problem.

If you are old enough to have sex, you need to be mature enough to be able to go to an STD clinic and to take care of your body. You could have an infection and could be putting your health, and the health of your partners, at risk.

You can find locations of free STD clinics in the US at the following site:

Good luck!

You migt be experiencing a fungal break out which needs more than just what you are using. Also for your partner's good I would go to the doctor as you do not know what u might giving your partner as you make love.

(1) Please apply skin ointment containing Clotrimazole.
(2) Wash your undergarments in boiling water and dry them in sun shine.
(3) The fungus infection will likely recur even if you have cured it. So continue to apply the ointment in the affected area.
(4) Care should be taken not to infect others.
Please see the webpages for more details on Candidiasis.

Phimosis. The only cure is amputation. Sorry but you have to cut it off. Or you could try some vagisil on there, keep it clean and use condoms for a while.

No, not from abstinence. It can from certain types of bacterial infections, though. Have you ever heard of the flesh eating bacteria?

she probably has a yeast infection and doesn't know it yet.

go to the store, get that 7 day antifungal yeast infection cream at Walmart and you BOTH use it, for seven days, no skipping days.

you both can reinfect one another if it doesn't clear up.
