Just today I took my rescue inhaler and I feel worse. Could it be because I'm pregnant that it's not working or that it's just the baby crushing my lungs or that albuterol doesn't work for me anymore.

My daughter develop 40.5 fever since yesterday .
I just give plenty of water because she doesnt have any other syntoms, she eats well, and obviously at the end of this day she was less active than normal.
I don't want to take to the doctor because I hate to give her antibiotics what ever is the disease, she has been all of this three years taking antibiotics every time she had bronchitis, tonsilitis, gastroenteritis.
I just give before bed today camomille tee with propoli (3 drops) one spoon of hone and one lemon. I hope I did the right.
Question, what can be the problem? if she doesn't complain anything? only high fever? thank you :)

I know how to blow my nose, hold a nostril shut and blow hard through the other, so I do it correctly and hard. But Nothing ever comes out. I blow real hard and just air is comming out my nose, no mucous. Its been this way for years. I saw people at restaurants when they are done eating, they blow their nose and loads of mucous comes out. family members blow their nose more than once a day and they have lots of mucous come out ( they do not have congestion or cough like some people do, They dont have alot of congestion no more than I do, they dont smoke) I get flem in my throat like when I eat something spicy, so I know I'm producing mucous, but it never comes out the nose. Usually they take a hot shower or steam bath, or eat spicy spaghetti and they blow mucous out their nose like crazy. I take a hot shower and blow my nose and still, nothing comes out. I had a nose job about 15 years ago, so I dont remember a time when I could. WHY?

About a week ago my daughter had what we thought was a cold(fever, congested nose and ears, sore throat, and a cough). Now most of it got better but she still has a fever and her cough has got worse especially at night. Any ideas on what this is?

Red wine 'protects from colds'
Another health benefit has been attributed to red wine - fighting off the common cold.

According to scientists in Spain, drinking wine, especially red, stops people from developing colds.

Something in wine seems to have a protective effect because the same was not seen with beer and spirits.

The evidence comes from a year long study of 4,000 volunteers.

My husband is currently stationed in Iraq and will be home a few days before thanksgiving after doing a 15 month deployment. His dad wants to come up to see him come home, he lives over 2,000 miles away and I want him to come up but Im afraid. I had my mom come visit us 2 years ago, she was 62, my son woke up in the middle of the night and found her passed away on our couch from COPD. Im so afraid that is going to happen again, my father in law is 64 he has asthma, emphysema,COPD, diabetes,is on blood thinner medicine, full oxygen, nebulizer , he has a total of 25% lung capacity and many many more meds that i cant even remember, and on top of all this he still smokes 2 packs a day. He says he wants to come up because this will be his last holidays, and he hasnt seen us in 4 years. I really want him up here but Im so afraid, will he be allowed to travel, I called amtrak and they said he can bring the oxygen, but its a 38 hour trip, airplanes wont allow him. How do I handle this??

I just had a stress test done for my heart. The doc said that I'm in the top 10% athletic ability for my age group. I am trying to lose 30 pounds and have noticed during excercising, I'm still short of breath. The doc assures me there's nothing wrong, but I'm worried still. Does a stess test also measure lung function?

i was wonder how long ago it became unacceptable or illegal to smoke in hospital waiting rooms. i'm looking for first- or second-hand accounts here, i.e. "my grandma told me she saw people smoking in a hospital waiting room in hartford, cn in 1953" so no speculation please, unless it's impeccably sourced. thanks!

the only symptom she has is a chronic cough and once in awhile she has like spit coming back up her throat, by the way she is 72 years old and may have Mackulur degenerate, still going for tests about that, I thought I would add that in, because when she coughs her eyes turn really really red and water like she has been crying. She does not have heart burn, her throat does bother her only when she coughs. She had an upper GI,chest xray so far and thats what they come up with, we think you have acid reflux. She probably coughs every half hour or so then she has to have a drink of water and something to suck on like some candy or cough drop because she can't get her breath if she does not. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Hey everyone! Due to a variety of circumstances, I'm trying to quit smoking (So far its been a bit more than a day) but the thing is I only smoked for about three weeks, even less, maybe averaging 2-3 cigarettes a day. I was wondering if anyone would know about any long-term issues I might face because of this? Thanks a lot for any help!

When a friend moved in, we locked him in my room while we unloaded the truck. Since then, he won't come in my room. We figured he just associated my room with that scary day. Well, now he won't go into the kitchen. That’s where is food bowls have been since we moved in and then all of the sudden, he just won’t go in there. Not even for a Greenie treat! He howled and howled the next morning to be fed. my friend put his food in his bowl and he just wouldn’t come in. If we pick him up and put him back there, he gets really low and would take a few licks while watching over into the corner behind the stove. We thought he might be afraid of the mop that stayed back there so we moved it. No change. I mopped the entire house with it yesterday and he didn’t pay it any attention. We’ve had to move his bowls in the dining room, where he will eat then. He'll stay in the hall and hiss at the pantry. Rest of the behavior is normal. Any idea what is going on in his little cat brain?
