Getting or being cold does not make you get sick. Pneumonia is a disease caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae, not cold air.

Pneumonia is caused by an infection in the lungs, which can be either viral or bacterial. Working in the freezer itself will not cause you to get pneumonia. However, lowering your body temperature can inhibit your immune system and make you more susceptible to any infection.
