I was sick and finally felt better today. I have the type of asthma where you cough non-stop as much as you try to hold it in, you can't. I finished all my medicine yesterday and didn't worry about getting more because I felt much better. Than I did the stupidest thing, and cleaned the bathroom, inhaled a face load of lime-away and I have been coughing ever since. I have nothing but some sucrets that are doing nothing, and I only have two more anyway. This is painful and annoying and I want to be able to sleep tonight...I need some old country, backwoods type of remedy because I am not going to the store for cough medicine...that barely helps anyway! I am listening no matter how crazy your idea may sound!

I have tried it all, Tussin, Guifessin, etc. What have you found if anything creates a productive cough? Ive had a dry hacking burning cough for 4 days now, and its really annoying. I wouldnt mind coughing if I was coughing something up. Thx!

I have been coughing/congested now for almost 3 months... Several factors, I have pets, work in a bar, smoke, weather is not consistent, and also have gas heat. I've only lived in my house since Sept. had the heat on Nov.
I also have extremely un-controlable high blood pressure so all the sinus/allergy meds with decongestiants are out of question. Now I am going through the post nasal drip process and cough every 5 seconds, turn to gag, turn to watery eyes... and can't breath without coughing... My dr tells me the same thing each time I go... take some cough syrup... and use vicks to breath... (I can't do much more than that) I've tried muxinex, that hasn't worked, cough drops/syrup do nothing, and I can't sleep... suggestions?!?!?
Not sure if it's allergies, the weather, a cold, the gas heat in my house (never had before heard it really dries ya out) I have a humidifier... just getting tired of it... Grr....
(I hate cold season!)

Ugh, I've been having horrific asthma symptoms for over 2 weeks. I'm on an antibiotic for a sinus infection (which I get chronically and they always make my asthma worse), but it's not working because I'm resistant to all antibiotics from taking them so often for sinusitis. Anyway, I NEVER wheeze, and when I breathe in, deep within my chest there's like a high pitched dog-whistle sounding noise. Is that technically wheezing? For the last three days straight (despite doing my neb every 4-6 hours), I constantly feel like breathing has been extremely laborous. It gets worse when I lay down -- would that indicate mucus in my lungs? Also, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow morning, and I know that I'll be going on Prednisone (that's what always happens when my symptoms can't be conrolled by inhailed steroids and neb treatments alone). On Friday I'm also scheduled to get steroid shots in my back and neck (for an injury) with an anesthetic as well. Will that interact?

Thank you! :)

My son who is 1 yr old was diagnosed with tracheal and larynx Malaysia and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? He also was told he has a small left bronchi. He has been sick his whole little life and the docs say its because he can't cough up the mucus in his lungs like normal people can when they get colds. They have him on a steroid inhaler. They also say he should grow out of it by the time he turns 5. Anyone with kids in the same situation of have heard of it before? Ideas, Experiances?? (yeah sry I had this posted before as meningitis I did the spell check on Malaysia and cit changed it to that...sry...its supposed to be Malaysia where the cartilage is weak)

The doctor recommended I have EMT.

I'm not sure what it is, but it's suppose to help my sinuses.

Has anyone had this done? How long was the recovery? Was it painful?

I know someone who was paralyzed in June of 06 and I was just wondering if he would ever be able to do those things again. I know it sounds sick but I really just know he would be a really good father.

i quit smoking 3 months ago, and had congenital asthma (outgrew it by age 2). i'm a physically fit person, so it doesn't make sense for me to have to catch my breath after going up the stairs.

I live in Maine and I have a son with IgG deficiency and Low C4. I am trying to raise the $15,000 it costs to purchase an air purification system that he needs. I have handed out donantion flyers and I have put out jars at some local stores. Does anyone have any ideas on how we could make this more successful? Health Ins does not pay for the purification system so we are left trying to pay for these things on our own. Any advice would be helpful.......Thanks

Is such a thing possible ? I have tried many types of masks and they really do bother me. Also I want to be more active at church & etc.but my hair is always a mess from the contraption. Also I don't know if this is related to sleep apenia but I always feel like I have something hanging in my throat that I cannot move one way or the other. I thought it might be mucus and it may but I wonder. Any thoughts on this ? I am 76 , on my feet and take a lot of prescribed medicine.
