You could have breathing problems for a while. Double pneumonia is very serious, and it will take a while for your body to heal. The following may speed your rate of recovery:

*Patients should be sure to drink plenty of liquids.

*Coughing should not be suppressed, since this is an important reflex for clearing the lungs. Some physicians advise taking expectorants, such as guaifenesin (Breonesin, Glycotuss, Glytuss, Hytuss, Naldecon Senior EX, Robitussin), to loosen sputum. There is no proof that any of these products make much difference in outcome.

*Mild pain can be treated with aspirin (adults only), acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands), or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin).

*For severe pain, codeine or other stronger pain relievers may be prescribed. It should be noted, however, that codeine and other narcotics suppress coughing, so they should be used with care in pneumonia and often require monitoring.

*Of some interest is a laboratory study reporting that aromatic oils containing oregano, thyme, and rosewood destroyed S. pneumoniae. It is not known whether they have any effect on pneumonia in people, but they are harmless and pleasant in any case.

*Patients should practice chest therapy.

I believe that some people have sensitive lungs. In fact, some asthma is due to the lungs being over sensitive. By that I mean over sensitive to odors, pollen, cold, dust, virus and bacteria. Whenever you have something like pneumonia, your lungs have to do a lot of healing and sometimes become sensitive. Especially if you have allergies. When I had pneumonia, it took me 2 months to get back to normal again. So maybe you just have a little asthma which will go away once you are totally rid of the pneumonia. Have your doctor prescribe an abuterol inhaler for you.

I have not had a well breath in a month now. Every time I take a look at, I cough. You simply made me cough with this query. Oh so ill. But the document gave me tussin with codeine. And that makes me blissful, although I nonetheless cannot breathe. I additionally acquired an inhaler for the primary time in my existence. I've been in need of one because I used to be five years ancient for the reason that I proposal they had been "cool". Now I'm cool. *coughs* *smokes an extra cigarette*

Ask your Dr for an Oxygen set up

It seems to help me the most

I have liquid oxygen with a portable unit that last about 8 hours on a refill
