All the people above have some very good ideas on how to approach your problem. What I would add: When was the last time you had a chest x-ray? It would probably be a good idea to get one, just as a baseline. Give the spray a try, along with the other over the counter medication suggesions that you've been given. If the spray, and the suggestions you get here, don't work then absolutely insist on a chest x-ray. If your doctor is not more helpful or concerned after all this, then get rid of him. Get someone new. Please don't delay, bc whatever it is you have, I'm not totally convinced that it's going to get better on its own, with a simple change in the weather, or with the elimination of possible new allergens, new foods you're coming into contact.

If you are having trouble breathing right now, then you should call 911.

Otherwise, you don't give enough details. Are you overweight, asthmatic, a smoker or have any other medical conditions? Is this happening when you exert yourself?

Any number of ailments can cause this. Please don't ask for an online diagnosis. That is a BIG mistake. The only ones who diagnose you are an MD, an NP and a PA and only after an exam. See your primary care provider to have this evaluated.
