I always dread winter because wintertime means dry air which always leaves me with a nagging dry cough and I'm always clearing my throat.

As soon as winter is gone, my cough goes away.

Is this normal????

I was diagnosed with this horrendus sinus infection. They gave me a 10-day supply of Avelox 400mg. I started to feel better 4 days into taking the meds and kept getting better. All of a sudden I got symptoms again when I woke up this morning (day 10). My throat is burning and hurts from stuff draining down in , I keep sneezing and theirs lots of mucus (clear but alot). Did the Avelox work? Did I catch something new (several or my co-workers are sick too).

only nurses or doctors only, I can make a guess about this as much as any other regular joe, I want ACTUAL help and knowledge.

I've had a cough for about a month now. now other symptoms, but a cough. it started out with no phlegm or anything, just a tickly feeling in my lungs that would make me cough a lot. about a week later when I'd cough you could hear the mucus and such flinging around my chest, but the cough didn't make any come out. I was told my cough sounded really gross and everyone kept asking if i'd like a tissue, but the cough produced nothing, just made gross noises. about a week ago the cough started being productive, I was very happy and assumed it was finally going to go away. then yesterday (no idea if this is related) I was in mid sentence and I started having a coughing fit, between coughs I tried to breathe in but it was like my throat was closed, I was barely getting any air in. after a few minutes it subsided. last night ... more in additional details.

My daughter came into my room this morning and was cheery, but she said she had laryngitius, as I had noticed. Yesterday morning, her voice sounded a little odd, but by night, it was pretty normal again. Today, it sounds raspy. She is also constantly clearing her throat. Any remedies? Thanks!

Its been a turmoil for me as it is just to difficult to breath and sleep.Have had many kinds of logenges because I am scared to have any medicines. The doctors have also not prescribed any medicines yet. If there were some kind of home remedies then you could share it with me.

Hello,

I had my sinuses cleared of polyps a few years back, but that was long ago... done by a surgeon who also corrected my deviated septum. Those times following the surgery were ecstasy in terms of being able to breathe through my nose (which I had never done before, at least only with one nostril being the workhorse, while the other laid dormant).

Sadly, those days are gone, and now I'm left with constant congestion and grapefruit-sized polyps; I hate to conjure up images, it's gross... I know. But the suffering has gone on too long so I think maybe there's some hope in this jalai neti (nasal irrigation).

What can be said of it? Is it worth a try?

Thank you,

Av

I was hit with extreme fatigue yesterday and it won't go away. I slept for 18 hours yesterday, never waking once! My girlfriend said it was nearly impossible to wake me (usually it's very easy). I have been the same way today. Every time I sit on the couch, I am out cold. I slept through several phone calls (which always wake me). Once in a while I will experience some minor chest pain, usually after I eat or smoke a cigarrette. I have had a couple bouts of dizziness that lasts for maybe a minute or so at a time. When I wake up from these deep sleeps, I have a hard time taking full breaths and have to wait about 20 minutes before I feel comfortable breathing. I have been coughing up a bit of mucus as well. My low back has been extremely painful, but not sure how that can be causing these symptoms. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

I am confused,upset, and sick..
I am awaiting the results of my blood work, but I have
severe headaches,
body aches,
chills, fever,
coughing,
stuffy nose,
fatigue,
trouble sleeping longer than 2-3 hours,
my eyes hurt to even move them from let to right.

The doctor feels strongly that the flu is what I have.

With that being said, what is the benefit of having a flu shot in the first place?

Sorry to ramble. it's the insomnia.

My granny is 88 and has breast cancer, one breast was removed when she was 65. She still takes a lot of cancer and other medications. She has one kidney, heart and breathing problems. She needs a wheel chair and oxygen and is in a nursing home. Two times water between her lungs were removed. Now she has water between her lungs again. She told me that she cannot do a surgery again because that would damage her lungs. She takes medication to remove the water, but it does not help 100%.

She does not have any pain, why? She is a lucky cancer victim. I heard that some cancer patients suffer bad pain and some need Morphine everyday. My granny seems to be fresh and healthy when I see her. It seems that she lives forever and never dies. But sometimes she suddenly has breathing and speaking problems. She is a hospice patient but does not look like a person who is going to die. Could she suddenly die because of her lug problems, although she looks good? I want to look online about this lung illness. Does anybody know the name of this illness? Does anybody have friends or family members with this illness?

Hi. Right now, I have a really hard time breathing. I quit for a week and slipped up a few days ago when I smoked 5 cigarettes in one sitting. The day after, I ran on the treadmill and benchpressed. When I woke up, I had a hard time breathing, and I've had it since. I've been yawning alot, too. When I breathe in deep, it just seems like I can't breathe in as deeply as I used to. It's weird because when I exercise, I'm not really short of breath. Please help me out, thanks =].

I had the angioplasty before Christmas. Felt great while the weather was warm, walking, riding my bike. But recently the weather has been so cold causing me chest pains. The same kind I felt before angioplasty. Will I ever be able to handle the cold air again? I take my nitro, some releif, some not. Am asthmatic and diabetic too. Possibly with the cold air it is causing tightness of the atteries around the stents. Do I have to put up with this pain every winter?
