(the cottage was unoccupied for many weeks). so the question is... how does the chest infection develop, given that it is a myth that colds are interlinked with damp and lack of heat.

It happened to me this week.
I had pneumonia last year (unrelated, and now fully recovered.)

staying at that cottage... i was very sick with a flu-related illness, with high fever the first night home, and a deep and chesty cough that is still with me a week later. people joke with me that i sound as if i am a heavy smoker of 30 years! (I don't smoke!) I'm still booming away. Should I go to the doctor?

My right eye has been really really pink, with or without my contact lenses, when I cough, I have difficulties coughing, and generally there is no flem to speak of. My throat isn't too sore, but it is mildly iritated. My right ear was bleeding (internally) about 30 minutes ago. Now when I hear something it is like I am in a microphone.

She started sneezing on Thursday and Saturday night she was wheezing and could not breathe. She called 911 and she went to the hospital. She was diagnosed with very minor emphysema. She had so much mucus and could not cough it up. They gave her phenergen for nausea and she had an allergic reaction. She was in the hospital for 5 days, came home yesterday and is still out of breath a little. What does she do when she gets another cold?

I've went to the doctor, they gave me drugs and medicine which DOES NOT HELP! I use to be a smoker, so I am guess it is the Smoker's cough. But, i have quit it already.

It feels like a dry itchy feeling at the end of my throat, and also feel it sort of in my lungs? I usually cough when i laugh too hard or sing . It is just an annoying little cough that keeps coming. Is there any natural way or excersise or what so ever if anything at all I can do to cure it because it is so annoying. The doctor only gives me cough medicine, which is NO USE because it only makes me sleepy and drowsy but does not stop the cough.

My little one was 36 pounds at 16 months and short. He was real fat and size 6 diapers was small on him.Now he is 2yrs and 3 months old.I know that steroids can cause weight gain but can it cause weight gain in 5 days? He lost weight for no known reason(down to 29 pounds).Doctor said he is healthy with the weight loss.Always ate the same and drank the same amount of milk.He has been on steroids for 5 days and he feels much heavier and 3 pairs of his pants that fit him a week ago is skin tight on him.Can 5 days of steroids(prednisolone 5mg/5ml 3 times a day)cause rapid weight gain?

My daughter has spasmodic croup and was prescribed Pulmicort Turbuhaler. About a week or two later my husband and i noticed some changes in her behavior. She was really whiny and started crying alot. She was alot more tired. She ate less and got dizzy. I called the dr. and he said it was not from that.

A few weeks later, her cough got worse and they actually DOUBLED her dose to 2 puff twice a day. Almost immediately she got REALLY bad! she got so dizzy looking at the computer, tv, riding on the bus, etc., that she had to lay down. She got queesy alot. She got diarhhea. I stopped the med and within days the symptoms stopped. It has since been a month and today was her dr. app't to check on this. Again, I was told this could not be from pulmicort.

This is my last resort to find out some other info. does ANYONE has any similar experiences?

went to the dr, she said that I have acute broncitis, but I had
pnemonia last year and this feels so much like it. I get really
bad coughing fits and then my head hurts from coughing and I can
hardly talk without rasping for air. I have asthma as well. I am not
doing to good at this point. I have been on zithromax for four days
now and I was given a codine cough syrup as well as an inhaler and I am running a fever off and on... should I go back to the Dr?
or should I continue to lay in bed and suffer? Any home remedies out there?? I would love to know about them. THANKS
