Both are dangerous. Smoke is still smoke. Cigarettes have more known problem, because Marijuana is not as well studied as Cigarettes. Scientist believe Marijuana cause the same diseases as cigarettes, but at different levels. SOme worse and some not as bad as cigarettes. Its partly due to the frequency of use of cigarettes compared to Marijuana and how marijuana smoke is held in the lungs. Pot has been well documented to do brain damage. Frankly, there are enough stupid people in the world. I do not want to increase that number.

Pots active ingredient (THC) will accumulate in the body and be stored in fat tissue and the brain. Over the short term this can affect your mood, relax you, give you the munchies, the crack ups and reduce your inhibitions. However the longer term it can impair your ability to learn new skills particularly if used frequently. Lung diseases can result if you mix tobacco with the pot. This is the same as smoking and hence long term the problems as per cigarettes, nicotine, tar and a chemical cocktail into your airways.
Cigarettes raised your heart rate, constrict your arteries, raise your blood pressue, poison your body and clog up air sacs with tar. over time these air sacs become scared and breathing is difficult. this can lead to emphysema and/or lung cancer. research has shown that passive smoke is more concentrated to a non smoker and exposure over longer term will have the same effect. Best to quit.

most studies on marijuana were and are done by government grants. if you write anything pro the product you may(will) loose your grant.
The marijuana papers was a study made during mayor La Guardias era in NYC. Read it, it contains the same findings as they do today. the study was done to make pot a felony in NYC.
The government made a movie called "REFER MADNESS" to show what pot could do to you(very creative). More people die due to alcohol and cigarette smoke than from pot.And both are legal as of today.
I know of many smart individuals who smoke pot.
