I had the angioplasty before Christmas. Felt great while the weather was warm, walking, riding my bike. But recently the weather has been so cold causing me chest pains. The same kind I felt before angioplasty. Will I ever be able to handle the cold air again? I take my nitro, some releif, some not. Am asthmatic and diabetic too. Possibly with the cold air it is causing tightness of the atteries around the stents. Do I have to put up with this pain every winter?

The angioplasty will have helped 2 of the most blocked vessels but it doesnt mean you suddenly have perfect vessels. They could still be quite "furred" (atherosclerotic) which would mean you could still suffer angina symptoms. Many people with angina frequently feel worse on going into cold. If it happens frequently speak to your doctor about amending your medication, and if you do not already do so adding a tablet form of nitrate ie isosorbide mononitrate tablets which can ease the frequency of angina pains.
