Get him to the doctor! It could be bronchitis, pneumonia, even cystic fibrosis. Or it could just be a bad cold that will pass on its own. The vomiting is probably a result of swallowed nasal drainage but could be a sign of something more serious. Get to the pediatrician, the clinic, or somewhere as soon as you can. With a baby that little it's not a good idea to "wait it out" more than a day or two.

Sound to me like the a respitory infection. I DO NOT think it is cystic fibrosis since the symptoms showed up today. Could be pnuemonia, respitory flu, etc. I doubt it's whooping cough either. There are other forms of respitory infections other than whooping cough. If he changes color has severe trouble breathing etc or can't keep down liquids don't wait for the appointment seek help now.

Your doctor will probably prescribe an antibiotic unless it's just a severe cold virus. At the very least they can prescribe some medications to ease his breathing. Your doctor is the best place to start he will refer you to a pulminary doctor if need be.

www.webmd.com is a great source with symptom checker. I would check it out in the meantime.

I had Whooping Cough bad as a child. My mother used Vick's vapour rub on my chest and some in the opening of my nose to slow down the post nasal drip. Now get the baby off cows milk and go to soy milk and that might help stop some of that over active phlem gland that creates that cough. There is a guavisine in Tussin DM. Ask your pharmacist to see if a one year old can take that. I'm sure they have child's cough suppressants.

My son also suffered like I did. I got up many times a night to have him blow his nose and slow down some of his sinus drainage and gave him Tussin DM.

Oh my god, why haven't you called his doctor yet, what are you doing asking questions on the internet?
Well, if the doctor doesn't think it's an emergency it probably isn't and it can wait until tomorrow. If he gets any new symptoms call the doctor and let him know, or call the local hospital.

If he has had this for more than three weeks you should take your child to the doctor but otherwise just keep hydrated(best is orange juice) and not take them in the cold and try benadryl.

This could be due to asthma or other upper respiratory problems. Should consult a pulmonary disease specialist soonest possible.
