My hair have been gradually turning grey since I was 16. I would say now about 20% of my hair, particularly on my right side are grey. Recently my doctor also found that I have an enlarged nodule on my thyroid. This nodule is slightly hyperactive (I am not losing any weight) but other than that my thyroid is under control and I am not taking any meds.
I have been coloring/highlighting my hair except for the past 9 mos. I have been letting them grow naturally.
I have noticed that some of my hair are banded (dark pigment banded with much lighter/greying pigment) Kinda like cat's hair.
I also found a couple of hairs that are grey at the tips!!! not the roots. The roots are black. In fact, most of those hairs are black except the tips.
Now I am not sure if some of my grey hair are turning black again, or are they greying at tips instead of roots???
I had much stress last year but I am much better now. Again, I am taking no meds of any kind.
Any clues?

He has a car accident a bout a month ago and had surgery to remove half of his skill to stop brain swellin and to remove some blood of the brain. He was in an induced coma for eleven days and hospital for ninteen out of town. He ids home now and pretty much fully back to his old self! a miricale. He has to return to hospital soon to have the bone put back in. And is thinking hes not going to make it. Is this operation life threatening? we keep telling him hes come though the hard part and that just made him stronger. No way he will die in his next op.

My son was diagnose with a UTI earlier this month. We stayed in the hospital for 2 days. He was given antibiotics. Well, he is scheduled for an x-ray tomorrow. To see if he has a bladder reflux. His ultrasound came out normal. However, this is the thing I am asking. His urine is smelling more awful (sign of infection), really sensitive to wipes or anything touching him around his "thingy". Now, do you think his UTI got much worse and should I notify his doctor when we go to get his x-ray...or should I just leave it alone? I don't know what to do.

And when do they show? I was just scratched by a stray cat's claws and I think its teeth, ( I'm not sure). I think I'm getting nerved out!!! Should I go to the doctor? I don't know if it had rabies... it was just a feral cat who had visited our house for quite some time. I need to know, I'm like totally freaking out now!!! Do I need to go now?!

~Thanks

Are brain tumors contagious? For example, if a person has it, and coughs and sneezes without covering their mouths, would it be contagious for other people??

I have read that brain tumors are not contagious, but I do question how much research has gone into that to really define whether or not it is.. Since, the cause of it is still unknown.

It started one week ago. I just feel the urge to blink very hard and I will do this about five or six times in a row. I have started to look at the clock and say ok I'm not going to do this for 15 min. It never works. I know I sound nuts. I am so aware of every time I blink now. If anybody has had this problem or knows anything about this please help. Thank you. Could it have anything to do with my sinuses?

I feel so bad. Is it fair? They just assumed something is wrong with me because of my hunch. (Some people don't even notice it, though).
My doctor says I should not do surgery because my back isn't bad enough for that.

Hello,
I had vertigo about a week ago. My doctor prescribed me Antivert which is a meclizine prescription. It had been getting better over about three days but then It acted up again. It wasn't nearly as bad as before but it was worse than the other days. This morning I had trouble sleeping and have been feeling somewhat nausious and a little dizzy again. My questions are about how long will the vertigo symptoms last? and How long should I wait before calling my doctor?
I have other symptoms too and you can comment on them if you feel it will help : Ringing in my ears and slight flashing in my eyes but only once for about a second.

Thank you for any replies,

Eric

I no the title is not very promising is it? I have been hanging with a new friend which i met through my passion of photography for a up to 5 months now. We are really good mates and hes a top guy and I rate him highly. He has an honesty which I haven't come across like his for a long time.

Anywho so I like him....in many ways we get along great, have similar likes and views etc. He could have everything i want in a guy. However....he was over my house for dinner the other night and basically openly admitted he was an extremely heavy drinker. Telling me what he was able to consume left me in disbelief...it would kill most people. Im not sure if he is aware he has a problem or not? I noticed it to start of with…but I just went into denial and didn’t really think much of it. Now I regret not watching the signs to start with.

That night the line may have gotten crossed and I was slightly lost in the momment, we were cuddling on the couch and such and he kissed me goodbye. I am now regretting letting that line be stepped over...i think.

I regret the fact I let it go to far...and now I have to tell him I need someone who is straight. I don’t want to loose him as a friend and im scared I will. I don’t want to offend him either, but im hoping maybe something like this will make him question his drinking???? Im so confused….then my other side is like I like him so much…what if I am doing something I may regret for a long time. How do I tell him this without offending or hurting him????......How do I tell him….with the fear he will not want anything more to do with me………….

In a recent article I read that drinking coffee about six times a day can help prevent outbreaks of artritis and gout. Are there any coffee drinkers out there that can vouch for or disprove this theory.I don't drink coffee but suffer from the above complaints and was wondering if it was worth while taking up the habit

I am 14 and have Crohn's Disease in my colon, and nowhere else. I have had it since I was three. I was looking at Crohn's on a website called www.ehealthmd.com and it says 'PEOPLE WITH CROHN'S DISEASE HAVE A SLIGHTLY HIGHER INCIDENCE OF COLON CANCER THAN THE GENERAL POPULATION!!!' I am so freaked out! I don't want to get colon cancer!!! It also says that Crohn's patients should get regular screenings 8 years after diagnosis and it's been more than that, and I only have colonoscopies every 3 or 4 years or less! I don't want to get colon cancer. I didn't even know that people with Crohn's were more likely to get it.

I have had nausea that comes and goes...may come for a few days...leave for a few days...and then come back again. I have also had tenderness and a dull aching feeling in my upper right abdomen that also comes and goes and does not always correlate with the nausea. Sometimes, I don't feel the aching for a week or more and then it comes back. There is no real association with the foods I eat. Could this still be my gallbladder? Seeing the doc again tomorrow. Just curious.

Okay, I just called her and she sounded really sick. I asked her what's wrong and she said her stomach really hurts and she can barely walk. About a month ago she had to get this surgery that had a risk of her dying. She said she didn't want to take the chance, so she didn't take it. She had to get this surgery because she doesn't eat much which made holes in her intestines; my grandma told me this I don't know what causes holes in intestines. My father and I tried to tell her to eat everyday cause sometimes she doesn't eat for a day or two! She said she can't eat because she has no appetite when she's alone. I only visit her once every week. I can't go there everyday because of school.
