the area is just below my knee at the back and is very painfull when i stand on it for a while or when i walk. iv not over stretched it or anything like that.

have had a suspected p.e before which started in my leg (which i didnt know at the time so did'nt know it started in my leg) then travelled to my lung causing the p.e.

Yes, a deep vein thrombosis would not have any outward appearance, and those are the most serious ones. Can you see a vein specialist? You might need an ultrasound to check for DVTs. I just had this done--it was good to know I was OK.

would get it checked asap, I had 3 clots in my lungs when i was pregnant and am the same every time my leg really aches or my chest hurts i panic but it is worth getting it checked,clots in the leg are not always red and hot as my mum had one a few months back and it was only because me and my dad insisted the doctors scanned it that they found it.
possibly ask your doctor about a low dose asprin about 75mg that you can take daily to thin your blood.
Hope all is ok and you have just pulled something (not that it will make it feel any better but at least you know what it is)

i had a dvt recently,i went to bed one fri night fine and the next morning woke up with pains in my leg within half an hour i had a full on dvt i had no red areas or swelling until it was happening.Am sorry to hear you had a pe.Are you talking warfarin now?are you managing ok?

Seek medical help as URGENT you can not play around with symptoms like this especially with your medical history.

Totally agree with Anna - DVT rarely shows any signs.

You should get it checked if you're having problems, but it could also be a varicose vein - they can be painful, not always red or swollen and not always obvious.
