This definitely should be reported to a doctor. Sometimes it can indicate blood pressure problems; if someone gets up suddenly and falls, it could indicate low bp. Also, labyrinthitis can cause this.

At 34 and with a job that is that stressful, he really should make certain that everything is OK. If this means a run to the Emergency Room, it might be worthwhile. If he calls his doctor, he might be advised what he should do. The doctor either will tell him to go to ER or will set up an appointment.

I was in his place several years ago. Part of my problem turned out to be an abscess in the inner ear. I felt no pain from it, but it mimicked the symptoms of a stroke. Thank goodness there were no lasting effects. I have experienced extremely low blood pressure and labyrinthitis. I'm always a little dizzy due to other illnesses, but with those, I had trouble staying on my feet!

Yes, he should have a regular checkup to rule out anything easy to find, like anemia or some kind of virus. Stress CAN make this worse--he needs to do yoga, go swimming and deal with his stress because other things can also go wrong. A job is not worth his health!
