Hi all ok ive been studying animal management for a couple of months now and have been working in a cattery for about 7 months. I also have two gorgous cats. I have seen a parasites video today in class and its given me some facts about toxoplasmosis that i didnt know like its not curible as it goes to the brain and stays there. Im panicing really bad im 19 and want children in a couple of years but feel where i have worked in a cattery and have handled hundreds of filthy litter trays my chances are going to be pretty high of having the parasite. Im worrying that i might not be able to have children now or if i do they will get affected with the parasite ive always been worried about infertility and stuff and this has just made it sooo much worse specially as i could of avoided working with cats etc. Am i just worrying over nothing or is there some truth in this? Has anyone had children who have worked with cats without implications? sorry about spelling mistakes etc.

Im female, 24. I go to the gym, i eat healthily but smoke. I drink approx. 3 cups of tea & 3-4 pints of water a day. I rarely drink fizzy/sugary drinks & drink alcohol in moderation. For a few months now ive noticed i need to pee pretty much straight after ive drank something. If i drink a pint of water i can go 6 times in an hr & always have a full bladder. It is always clear & i never have pain or burning etc. I can have a full bladder, go to the loo & then 5/10 mins later have a full bladder again without drinking anything. Its as though im peeing more than im drinking. I don't wake in the night needing to go but once im up and have a drink im on the loo non stop. I don't feel unwell, tired or dehydrated, im not pregnant, my periods are regular, i suffer with period pain but always have. I have had the same sexual partner for 4 yrs and don't have an std. I am away from home so can't see my doctor until christmas. Any ideas?

Hi everyone I am 21 years old female and the past couple days I have been kinda dizzy so I thought it was just my iron being low. Anyways the past couple days my body feels jerky almost skaky. I have been under a lot of stress the past coupe months so that could be causing this also. I had a EKG done 2 weeks ago and everything was great.
Could a Sinus Infection be causing this?
or My back being out cause this?

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

I've heard how people have had seizures but aren't necessarily epileptic. Some is from drugs/medications, & I also hear how stress can trigger it off, too. What are other reasons?

had a urinary tract infection about 3 weeks ago, took antibiotics for few days but stopped as they were giving me stomach cramps. got better but digestion was never quite the same as before....then suddenly over weekend got severe pain in groin and lower abdominal region, right side and nausea and a severe unwell , dizzy feeling, which came after bowel movement .have had it for few day s now and pain is coming and going and so is nausea but i look and feel tired and very unwell. went to er and they checked for appendicitis and pregnancy, did an xray and then sent me home saying they dont know whats wrong but maybe irritable bowel. can irritable bowel continue for days like this and make me look and feel terrible and give me such nausea and sick feeling?

A friend of mine, I recently discovered, frequently eats grass, pencil shavings, erasers, and paper. He says that he eats grass because he likes the taste, but he eats paper when he is upset. I have seen him eat grass quite often, as well as a soft plastic knife (albeit very slowly, and he only managed the tip), a wedge-cap eraser, and almost half of a paper tablecloth. It sounds comical, but since seeing him eat the tablecloth I've been sort of worried. Does he have pica? Are these habits a risk to his health? Is there some sort of psychological reason for his compulsions to eat non-food substances? Any sort of input would be greatly appreciated.

I get cold VERY easily comparing w/other people. I live in the hills which gets pretty chilly but I wear like 3 upper body layers, sweatpants, socks &slippers. I need the heat at minimum 69 degrees at night &feel most comfy when I have my heat pad on to fall sleep. During the day my parents want the heat off so I need my portable heater on next to me.
I do cardio & resistance 1-4 hours a week &was a world class athlete my whole life, laying off about 7 years ago from hardcore training. I am 23 yr old female, 5'6'' 142 lbs- definitely NOT skinny &i think my circulation is fair. I drink plenty of water, dont smoke &i think i got my thyroid tested a few yrs back- no deficiencies anywhere. My mom was diagnosed recently w/both hyperthyroidism and hypothryoidism...i hope this crap isnt hereditary, but again i havent been told in all my yrs of seeing doctors that I have a single thing to worry about. I eat extremely well 95% of the time.

Can anyone figure this out?
Thanks so much in advance

My Dad started having pain in his leg in March when he walked for 20 yards or more. The doctor said it was his age and sent him away. When the pain got worse and started waking him in the night he went back to the doctor. This was about a month later. The doctor then said he would refer my Dad, but "forgot" to send the letter, so another month was wasted. Eventually my Dad got to see a specialist a month ago, and on the information he had from a scan he recommended a minor operation 2 weeks later. When he went in for the operation he was told that his leg was too bad, and that he would be referred back to the specialist in 2 weeks (today). He went in today to be told by the specialists understudy (the specialist was busy) that his condition was now too far gone for surgery, and that he should go to his doctor in 2 weeks time to get a prescription to treat it medically. Does anyone know of another specialist who can help him? I'm giving up with the NHS!! I'll find the money!

I don't know maybe I'm freaking out because everyone seems not to be concerned family wise. The only symtom that worries me is his eye hurting on the same side of that earache. Could it just be an earache and just set up and appt. with his pediatrician or could it be a more serious problem.

For the past 2 yrs since having my baby my appetitie has not calmed down. No matter how much I eat I always have a rumbling stomach which can turn quite acidic. This then causes a "hunger pain" running from my neck to my head if I don't eat quick enough. I also get a pain in my right side sometimes sharp under my chest like indigestion. My gp said just my hormones but surely not after 2 & a half years? Not much help really. Has this happened to anyone else. I eat plenty of good food also occassional treats so not a bad diet at all. Also drink lots of water and hardly any caffeine. I now feel so lethargic all the time because of all these symptoms they wear me out. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Several visits to gp have not helped me.

i've had what i think is just a cold for a little over a week now and in the last few days my ears have started popping when i blow my nose and sometimes when i swollow. i think it started when i blew my nose kinda hard and my one ear popped and it kinda hurt...since then that ear has been popping a lot. the other one does occasionally but not nearly as much. is this normal/ok? i just want to make sure i didn't damage anything or that this doesn't mean what i have is something more than a cold. i don't have any pain in my ears really, just a little pressure in basically my whole head sometimes from the sinus pressure.
i'll definitely go to the doctor if this keeps up much longer but i just wanted to see if there's anyone who might be able to help. thanks for your answers!!

My little brother is autistic and can't communicate what is wrong with him. He frequently has fits in which he is obviously in pain and says his head hurts, but in reality it could be anything. He is having problems going to the bathroom. His urination stops and starts and he has diarrhea. My parents don't know what to do. It's been going on for over a year. They've had tons of tests but everything comes out normal. Does anyone know of a specialist or someone who could help?

deficiency. However I have antithyroid antibodies, does this mean that my hypothyroidism isn't caused by iodine deficiency therefore I should not take it? I read on thyroidabout.com that taking sea kelp can make matters worse. Anyone taking it or has taken it and what are your thoughts on it?
