The human eye takes about 20 minutes to adapt to dim light, even when fully adapted, humans don't see well in dim light. If your room has some light from a window or night light you should see some shapes but not much detail after about 20 -30 minutes. Can you see some things if you wake up in the middle of the night.

If your room has no light and is pitch black, then you will not see after turning out the light. Human vision is the process of detecting light, if there is no light then you won't see anything.

You have night blindness.

The rod cells in your retina are damaged.

No cure or treatment. Buy night vision goggles or a flashlight.

Sorry.

Good luck.
