my dog's ear is swollen on the outer part where it folds. it is hurting her & cried at the touch, is ther anything i can put on it ? we see no cuts or scrapes nor any bit marks.
someone said it could be a snakebite. Please help as i can't get to the vet until tomorrow afternoon.
what scould it be ?
Has anyone ever seen or heard about it ?

yes, we think it is a hematoma after looking up some photos on the web.
thanks for the information, this condition just came up today so hopefully we're getting it in time, trip to the vet;s in the morning

this sounds like a hymotoma (spelled wrong) It happens when the dog/cat scratches it's ear & breaks a blood vessel If you do not see any puncure wounds this is probably the case. Not life threatening but call your vet or local ER to desribe the symptoms

Go to the store and get some cortisone cream- It is ok to use and it will help with pain and inflammation
You can also use a little bit of anbesol because of the lidocaine put it on with a Q-tip

It could be from mites. the only cure is surgery
