I just received a phone call from a representative of sickle cell anemia. He said that my newborn has the trait but not the actual disease. What does this mean? Can it lead to the disease?...He wants me to meet with him, is this for the association or for my daughters own health?

What is Down Syndrome and how do kids get it? My friends' baby has it and I was wondering what it does to a baby? She was diagnosed it with it when she was born. Can someone give me a website that I can get info from and learn more about it. They said she was born with a healthy heart, what does that mean? Also they said she only has a mild case of it. Has anyone had the same situation? What was the outcome?

He's got a blocked artery somewhere in the head. He is also an out patient so we have to carry him to the hospital radiation room for 22 days. he's quite old, movement is minimal so we handle him to and after the treatment. We have to literally embrace him to move him.

My wife has had cronic pain and has been on narcitic pain killers for 3 years. She recently went to a Dr. appointment for our daughter at a diiferent dr. than hers. My daughters dr. noticed that my wife was very tired as she had not been sleeping very well at all. He asked about how she was sleeping and ended up prescribing what turned out to be generic valume. My wife was not going to fill the script but I saw it on the kitchen table and thought I was doing her a favor by getting it filled for her.
Long story short when I filled it the pharmacy called her dr. ( the dr. that she has been going to for years and treats her pain and anxiety and PTSD). Her Dr. considered it a breach of contract that she got a narcotic from another dr. so she has dropped her as a patient. WE have 30 days to find my wife a new Dr. and it's all my fault. Please if you have been in the same situation What did you do?

My 13 year old has been sick with a "cold" since Tuesday. Here have been her symptoms.
Tuesday: Sore throat, sniffles
Wednesday: Bad Stufffy Nose
Thursday: Kinda Stuffy Nose
Today: Kinda stuffy nose, but very hoarse voice all of a sudden.

Just as it seems she's getting better, her voice completely changes. Is it something else? If it is a cold, why did her voice change? Thanks. :)

I'm a 19 y/o male who has been feeling sick since mid august of this year. The symptoms were sudden, one day I was fine and the next I felt like I had some kind of flu. However, I did not have a fever or chills like a normal flu or cold. These are the symptoms I've had for the last 4 weeks.
Fatigue
Sinus Pressure
Forehead Pressure
Lightheaded feeling while moving
Blood Rushes to head while moving or getting up.

I've had several tests done for Mono, Diabetes, Lyme Disease , A CT Scan for Sinus Infection an MRI and MRA, Thyroid and B diffecieny tests. As well as an allergy specialist. Everything has come up clean and I still have these symptoms. Sometimes they are really bad othertimes they seem to fade away. I'm not ruling out allergies, although I typically have no allergies what so ever. The only other symptom I've had is neck pain. I've gone to a chiropracter for several weeks and now the pain is gone, but my other symptoms remain. If anyone has any ideas what this is please help

Lastnight, I used a microcurrent electrical therapy (MET) device that attached to the earlobes... for 30 minutes. It is powered by a 9 volt battery. (MET on the ear lobes allegedly helps with insomnia, depression and anxiety.) Today, I have very slight numbness on my nose, ears, chin and cheeks. What would cause this? Could it be nerve damage? I was using it for insomnia (not depression or anxiety.... I don't have any depression or anxiety issues. )

What causes migraines so bad that a person suddenly collapes with very little or no warning, often accompanied by profuse vomiting and aura? Mine are well controlled now, but no doctor has ever explained to me what all is behind this.

Im 15 years old pretty happy with a bunch of freinds but Im kind of worried. I have anxiety and I've been diagnosed with OCD but I think I may have schitzophrenia. For about 8 years Ive had delusions these range from aliens, area 51, rabies and AIDS. I am pretty logical other than that and mostly I can tell myself to control them and tell myself they arent real. They've gotten a bit worse I think my peak for delusions was last year and Ive gotten better. Other than that I have decent concentration, I have 142 IQ and happy. But Im worried that the delusions may get worse and screw everything up. The only syptoms of schitzophreania I have are delusions but some of these are really bizzare. They usaully aren't that bad and bothering. I can hide this stuff pretty well and I know how to come up for excuses when I act funny. Hence I got diagnosed with OCD. Again my delusions are on one topic and I know it is abnormal. I might go on meds. Its mild but will i get better if its not that bad?

I have diverticulitis, whereby the colon becomes inflamed and cause general pain, bloating, constipation and gas. I am on a very particular diet, which I don't violate, and the usual over-the-counter products for haven't worked. At least none I've found.

Any links or other dircections would be greatly appreciated.

I first noticed a strange rash on my thigh about a week ago. It's a little bigger then a dime and it has a red outer circle with a read dot in the middle, but otherwise is pretty much clear. I sort of brushed it off because I have eczema, but no matter how much I moisturize, it just won't go away. I've had constant headaches on and off for a few years now too, but lately they've been getting worse. I only looked up lyme disease because I've been feeling really tired and kind of sick and achy lately, even when I get a good amount of sleep. I'm someone who can survive on only a few hours of sleep so I thought it was rather strange that I kept on getting these tired spells. When I looked up symptoms for lyme disease I also remembered that I've been getting muscle aches, specifically in my forearms lately. It comes and goes, but it kind of has me freaking out. I know lyme disease is possible because I live near the woods and often go jogging in them. Should get a lyme disease test done?

I frequently get headaches & migraines (since 8 years old). I have brain scans continuously, no causes have been found. I was on amitrpytoline but it didn't work so I was taken off. I occassionally used to take Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Tylenol, etc. except now, when I take them (I try not to as much as I can) for the past year or two they haven't worked. They provide no relief at all! I was prescribed Tylenol with Codeine for my headahces but they also don't work.

I am not exaggerating, I wouldn't be asking why they don't work.

They provide absolutely no relief. I would appreciate so much if someone could explain to me why ?!

Also, I am a 15 year old female. I have been sick for about 2 years with an undiagnosed illness. Rheum &symptoms/tests show Lupus, but I am not getting into that! I just want to know why pain relievers aren't working with head, bone, inflamation. Also, I take 15 g Meloxicam for 1 month now; still not working, is there a relationship too?
