For any congestion:

Brew some tea and stand over the pot letting the steam hit you in the face.(Please don't get too close) Then take your made cup of tea and go to the bathroom and turn on the shower as hot as it gets and let it get steamy.

For your throat:

Put honey in the tea. Also a little citrus would be good too.

Medicine:

This is tricky. Just go to a drug store and ask a pharmacist.

And Drink lots of fluids, and my motto "Feed a cold. Starve a fever." So if you start feeling hot around the head. Let someone know.

But:
You should tell your parents. They would know of a lot better ways to help you in particular because they raised you.

I have not had a full blown cold in...well, I can't even remember. At the first sign of impending cold symptoms I take echinacea ( available at most health food and drug stores) LOTS of vitamin C and raw garlic. The raw garlic can be difficult to swallow but it is a potent antiviral. I take it with crackers to help it go down. I just stopped a cold 2 days ago because I'm in a play that opened yesterday night & there was no way I was going to perform sick. I felt all the usual symptoms you're describing but really loaded up on the vitamin C and echinacea. I will admit that I did not eat the raw garlic this time because I have to deal closely with others during the course of this show. Anyway, the symptoms disappeared and the cold never materialized. Works every time!

High dose of Vitamin C, about 1000mg/day and either Aloe Vera pills or juice. Zinc may help as well, but the Vitamin C dosage will boost your immune system's effectiveness. I've been doing this for years. I can't remember the last time I had a cold...

You'll probably need a ride to the Vitamin Shoppe or similar place.

Gargle with warm salt water, also pour some warm salt water into your nasal passages. That might stop it for you. Maybe.
