For the past month or two it seems as if my intestines have just stopped working. I'll eat and eat and for the most part, nothing comes out. Every 5 days or so I might empty the hatch, but what gives? (Laxatives have helped me out, but I'm afriad of using them to much. Is there a laxative that isnt harmful in the long run like Ex-Lax is?)

I am a 19 year old , about to turn twenty female. I am a college student also. For about the past six months i have had constant pain all over my body. It feels like i need to stretch 24/ 7 to get rid of the muscle aches. At first the doctor thought it was my knees because they pull to the side in and out of the joint. But that isnt even what hurt me. The whole side of my leg from my butt to my ankle is one constant pain. I also have pain from my lower neck into my fingertips. My doctor told me i had this disorder and just said theres nothing to help you and that was that . I dont know what to do, what to help it with. We tried physical therapy and it did nothing. last nite i spend the whole night crying in my moms arms because i did not want to deal with this anymore, and im twenty years old but i wanted my mom haha. I feel like no one believes me (doctors) when i tell them my pain. Does anyone have any advice? sHOULD i ask my dr for medicine

Ive been researchng this lately and I have many of the symptoms:
Im am always tired, even if I just relax all day
I gain weight very easilyI feel dizzy alot, like Im about to pass out all the time
My hands and feet are strangely always cold
I dont go to the bathroom that often, when I do, Im struggleing
Im quite weak
I eat very good food
In the morning I usually have some oatmeal with a glass of orange juice and an apple
Around lunch time I'll have a salad
At dinner I have whatever my mom makes usually pasta or noodles or rice with beans or lentils or fish
I eat very healthily, but Im so tired I fall asleep a few times a day - without having done really anything
I rarely eat out, and when I do I have a salad
Im 17 i should have alot of energy right?
If I do seem to have hypothyroid, what should I do?
And if I do have to take pills, wont my body become immune to them?

you know how one toe is the same length as your big toe, on one foot, and 2 are the same length as your big toe on your other foot,

well, my foot with one long toe is on my right foot, and the 2 long toes is on my left foot,

its hard to explain, but, anyway, on all of my family members toes, and alot of the other people, the toes are reversed, its strange. what does that mean medically?

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism - I've been taking Synthroid religiously for a year. It has done nothing for me - I'm gaining weight, I'm still as tired, I walk every day and eat well 99% of the week. My MD has up'pd the dosage a few times already and says that my level is still too low.

I'm tired of feeling like crap - I want to lose weight - I'm 24 years old and weight nearly 169lbs - and I'm only 5'4 1/2". I've gained nearly 40lbs in the past 2 years - it's disgusting. I need to lose the weight - but I am having an awful time with it.

Is anyone else having issues with gaining weight on Synthroid? Or does anyone have a weight loss plan that has really worked for them when dealing with Hypothroidism?

I feel myself becoming more & more depressed with this - obviously the Synthroid meds aren't working for me. I still feel as terrible as I always have.

Anyone with any suggestions/advice/weight loss plans?

My husband a few weeks ago developed a hard mass thats about a centimeter in diameter in the begining beside his right ear. I thought it was just an infected pore or a boil of some type, because i get those. Then he started to develope one a few inches away from the first one along his jaw line and now it seems to be almost "connecting" I've never seen anything like this before. I did a little google searching and only thing i could come up with is a cancerous tumor called a "Pilomatrixoma" What do you guys think of this? Any ideas of what else it might be, either way I'm going to take him for the doctor but I always like to suggest what it might be to get ground so they don't have to do more tests than they need (saves money). Any advice and/or help would be really appriciated, thanks!

It started out as a little blue "freckle" when he was a baby. Over the last two months, it has developed into what I can only desribe as a bluish "bubble" protruding from the white of his eye. He has a doctors appointment in the am, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar? He is now seven years old.

I have an Abscess (tissue that gets infected and forms a pocket/sac with pus in it), I went to 4 different doctors. They prescribed me ANTIBIOTICS...today I went to the OB-GYN...this Doctor said they didn't prescribe me the right Antibiotics...so...he swabbed the abscess to test out what bacteria was causing this...He said that with the right Antibiotics it will go away...this Abscess is not deep...and its in the worst area possible...Oh yeah...he said no surgery is required...I had it drained once but its still here to stay..arr...

Has anyone had this problem?? And, does Antibiotics really make it go away?

I am getting the upper GI in two days, i went to the doc yesterday for my upper stomach pains, extreme bloating and burning under my breastbone and burning under my armpits and sides of my breast are very tender. The doc scheduled an upper Gi to find out if there is an infection or ulcer and or polyps in my stomach causing all this discomfort.

My question is will this test tell what is actually causing all this discomfort and or will this just be another day off of work with no results?

I am currently taking nexium and carafate together which seem to be helping but I can barely eat w/out becoming very uncomptable until the food digest.
