The doctor will examine you, then they will do a urine test and probably a blood test. Then they'll give you an antibiotic if it indeed is a bladder infection.

They will want a urine sample for testing. They will probably put you on antibiotics. Don't worry. You will feel much better soon I'm sure. Be sure to let your doctor know of any allergies. Ask questions. My doctor is wonderful with giving me information but I know not all doctors are so forthcoming so you have to be ready to ask questions otherwise they may not think to tell you for whatever reason.

First you will urinate in a cup, they will test the urine for blood and bacteria if they find infection that may be all that happens..... Then they will write you a prescription for antibiotics and some kind of a pain reliever. They may do a pelvic exam especially if they don't find the cause of your discomfort in the urine sample alone...

your doctor will evaluate you, ask you questions about your pain, possibly press down on your abdomen. also if he/she suspects a bladder infection they will ask you to produce a urine sample. it will be sent for a lab and if it comes back as you have an infection then your doctor will prescribe an anti-biotic
