I have Hypothyroidism and not being a doctor, I certainly cannot tell you that you do. However, your doctor can do a blood test of the thyroid and see if it comes back high or low. I went undiagnosed for 15 years (yes, 15 years) because I have Auto-immune Thyroiditis. All those 15 years I had the same/similar symptoms as you, however my thyroid test always came back "normal". It wasn't until I gained 100 pounds (and I ate healthy too) that my doctor ran the "auto-immune" portion of the blood work along with an extensive Thyroid panel.

Many doctor's run what is called the "standard" thyroid test. You need to make sure they run the extensive test. I have put a link to webmd.com that will help you. You will see the test about the auto-immune test as well.

As for the hormone you will need to take to bring your thyroid in balance - no you will not get used to it. But in most cases, it will be something you will have to take the rest of your life.

Here is the link and good luck! Always remember, if you feel in your gut something is not right with your health - DO NOT GIVE UP - it took me 15 years - but now I have been diagnosed correctly and am doing lots better.

What your describing could be caused by hypothyroidism. This is a VERY common condition (Synthroid, which is used to treat hypothyroidism, is one of the most common medecine we sell in pharmacies i'm working)

However, these are also non-specific symptoms, so you'll need to have some blood work done before we jump to conclusions. Most cases are very easy to detect with blood tests.

The good news is that most cases are also very "easy" to treat, and the pills are not too expensive and have few side effects at the appropriate dosage (which is why the doctor will want to have regular blood tests until your condition is settled and the right dosage for you is found). Your body won't become immune to them. Most treatment are based on thyroxine (T4), the same hormone that your thyroid is usually producing (but insufficiently if you suffer from hypothyroidism).

Several patients will see great benefits within a few months of treatment... Good luck!

Yes, I have hypothyroidism. The healing will also out your thyroid, however you'll nonetheless want a GOOD DIET and EXERCISE PLAN to drop some pounds. You additionally MUST watch out, on account that hypothyroidism factors different BIG well being disorders ... get your ldl cholesterol checked IMMEDIATELY and each six months for the leisure of your existence. Have an EKG performed now, and get one AT LEAST as soon as a 12 months ... and BE SURE to take your thyroid healing AT LEAST AN HOUR BEFORE you devour ANYTHING should you wish to get the 'complete outcome.' You'll nonetheless be 'worn out' within the afternoon and might want a nap, and your joints will affliction just a little extra ... ALL of that is from the hypothyroidism, and should you leave out one tablet that day can be 'tougher' and the day after should you leave out once more can be even tougher ... and it is going to most likely take five our extra years in your thyroid to 'relax' and quit 'adjusting' so BE SURE you've got your THS (blood) checked EVERY SIX MONTHS for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. You may even NEED THOSE PILLS for the leisure of your existence, so be definite that should you transfer to one other state, journey for longer than a month, or difference medical professionals that you just ALWAYS HAVE YOUR MEDS!

From what you have described, hypothyroidism is possible.

The only sure diagnosis is via a blood test where they will test your thyroxine levels and your thyroid stimulating hormone levels amongst other things.

If you have an underactive thyroid, you will be given a synthetic form of thyroxine in tablet form.. The body accepts this as a substiture for the thyroxine it would normally produce itself and is unable to produce for whatever reason.

Your body does not become immune to thyroxine or its effects over time, what may happen is that if your thyroid gland is still producing some thyroxine and stops producing as much or any, then your dosage may need to be increased in future.

Then again, it may be nothing to do with your thyroid!

See a Dr.

You need to see a doc, and get a blood workup. The only way you can even begin to tell what it may be is with a blood test. Ask for a copy of your labs. Look at your TSH levels.

The only way to know what is wrong is to go see your doc. Also that is the only way to diagnose hypothroidism is with seeing the doc and getting blood work done. See your doc to find out what is going on.
