I found out I was exposed to a child with chicken pox a couple days ago. If I had chicken pox as a child can I get shingles from this child. I am a 25 year old with an impaired immune system due to hypopituitarism.

If you've already had chicken pox, you have the shingles virus (herpes or varicella-zoster lying dormant in your system.

Exposure to shingles can cause chicken pox in someone who has never had chicken pox.

BUT... exposure to chicken pox won't cause someone who's already had chicken pox to get shingles. Odd, but true! It isn't backwards compatible like that.

The fact that your immune system is compromised, however, DOES make it more likely that you might suffer a shingles outbreak at some point in your life. The first signs of shingles is usually sharp pains or tender spots, usually on your sides or lower back. The rash doesn't tend to show up until a couple of days after the onset of pain.

The best thing to do if you experience early symptoms is to start treating it immediately... the sooner treatment begins, the better the chances are that you won't have to suffer with the pain for very long. I started treating mine immediately, and managed to get the pain to subside within six days. (Six of the worst days of my life, mind you, but... that's not too bad for shingles!)

Anyone who has had chickenpox can get the shingles. Getting exposed to someone with chickenpox will not give you shingles as you have antibodies to the virus. However, the virus is dormant in the nervous system and during periods of stress, disease, old age and lowered immunity some people get a painful blistering along a track of nerves and this is called shingles. If this occurs you should see a pain specialist in order to reduce the chance of developing post-herpectic neuralgia.

Yes, you probably could. I had a case of the shingles about a year ago and I'm only 39 but also HIV+. It wasn't a really bad case as opposed to some but a person with a low or impaired immune system can get it repeatedly I found out.

I got identified with herpes (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a dumb one-night stand. I understand a lot of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/nsafF everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This method provided the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

I don't think so if you already had chicken pox-but i would call your doctor just to double check-i believe only people who have had chicken pox get shingles by it being dormant in your body-but if and when you get an outbreak-someone who has not had chicken pox can get chicken pox from you-but not shingles.

I had shingles for the 1st time while i grow to be 8, and then saved on getting them (i'm kinda sickly, haha!) The stuff interior the blisters could reason individuals to get shingles in the event that they touch it. save your shingles lined up. attempt to no longer scratch them incase it receives on your fingertips and additionally you overlook to bathe them. If it itches or stings, lay your hand on a chilly tricky floor and it will help. Shingles are like 'grownup chicken pox'. in case you have had chicken pox as quickly as, you under no circumstances do lower back - yet you will get shingles. You get them via rigidity particularly situations which messes up your immune gadget. save it lined. Notify your neices mom and your buddy, yet they're going to maximum probable me o.k. except they touched the blisters! yet ascertain you save a touch distance from them till the shingles start to heal. desire they disappear quickly!

since you had chicken pox as a child you have the virus living in your nervous system, and you can get shingles at any time, it doesn't require exposure. And exposure will not necessarily cause an outbreak either.
