Always drink something hot/warm, dont drink cold stuff or eat ice cream etc.
If you have a cough- suck on cough sweets
Sore throat - try to gargle with chamomile tea or with specially made products that help calm your throat

You can use over the counter cold medicines. Without them, the cold will be gone in 14 days. With them, it takes only 2 weeks. I know, that is the same time but 2 is smaller than 14 and you will at least feel better with the medication.

You can also try the raw onion and whiskey method. If you have enough of the raw onion, nobody will come near you so you won't spread the cold. If you have enough of the whiskey, you won't care about the cold. If that got you to smile, you are on your way to being cured.

Have always heard that Vitamin C is great for colds. I know that you should drink lots of fluid and treat the symptoms. Rest as much as possible and it should run it's course in a few days.
