I haven't lived with airconditioning since I was a baby. It's not usually needed where I live. I do notice that when I'm in a car, office, or home with A/C for any long amount of time, I often develop a sore throat. I'm going to be moving to the desert soon where everyone has, and needs, airconditioning nonstop for about 9 months of year. Does anyone know if there are any health risks associated with this? Thanks

I lost my job a couple months back and have been in the process of finding a new one. I'm 21 years old but have bad acid reflux and Protonix solves my stomach problems. Without it I would be having food come up often. My doctor has been giving me Protonix for over a year and it's worked great. My doctor won't prescribe more because I call for refills and I only have 10 left with no job yet coming. I looked online and found www.brand-pharmacy.com which sells generic protonix that can last me for quite some time. First of all, are these suppliers safe? Second, how trustworthy are they to come through with what they say? I don't want to give these people money then either have them screw me or send me something that doesn't work or hurts me! I've never taken generic so the more info on it the better. Thanks in advance!

I was diagnosed with IBS over 20 yrs ago and it has steadily become worse to the point that i have no control over my bowels and have constant diaorhea which leaves me in extreme pain for hours.on end. I can no longer go out and am a prisoner in my own home.
I have had numerous blood tests, scans, cameras etc over past 2 yrs but nothing obvious can be found. Have been told that there is nothing else i can do but live with it. Anything anyone can come up with would be appreciated as its affecting my life so much that i no longer seem able to do anything.

I have 'low thyroid' ... I recently read on-line that dairy products can have an affect on the supplements I take, but I couldn't find out more. I know I could do a search, but want to hear from others like me as to their experiences with dairy and supplements, too.

Hospital when they take xrays tells me sinus problem gives me meds and anitobotics, went to an ear nose and throat he tells me it's not sinus he says NERVES, Then I go to another doctor who says Swallowen Septum. I have heard that Trigeminal Neuralgia is the 5th cranial nerve and it is agnozing pain which I am in. What does it sound like I have to you? Also I have 2 wisdom teeth coming in but they never tell me it's teeth SO what could it be?

Cancer is an illness. If you're an alcoholic, to say you are "ill" is an insult to those suffering from genuine conditions over which they have no control. So why do even health professionals perpetuate this euphemism? Can't people who drink too much admit to being drug addicts? I became an alcoholic by the same method as everyone else...the ONLY method there is...namely, pouring large amounts of booze down my throat on a regular basis for years. I didn't catch it...it didn't develop on it's own. While I was drinking, I was never "ill"...I was drunk. When I stopped drinking, my "problems" went away. It's about time people grew up, I reckon. Bloody whining drunks. Put the glass down, it's hardly string theory...

I had polio as a child, (I was 5 years old before I could walk. I'm 52 now) and now I feel like it is returning. At times I can barely walk. My doctor say once you get over polio it's over. I had my hips x-rayed and the cartalage is wearing away.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 2 years ago. I had always had opposite symptoms of hyper, symptoms more like hypo. I was sick all the time, cold all the time, extremely weak, would almost fall asleep at work even in the middle of typing and getting training *blush*, weight gain, depression, etc.
I just read in another yahoo answers that when thyroid is hyperactive the TSH levels are low and hypoactive TSH levels are high. I had very very high. I guess normal is like 30% to 35% and mine was in the 90% range. They said I was hypo at first then rechecked and said I was hyper. So now I'm so confused. They put me on tapizole and it brought me to normal levels....but why was everything including TSH levels opposite?
Also.....a few years before diagosed I got very depressed. I seemed to have lost myself and had terrible judgement that only got worse. I fell out of love with a long time bf. Since treatment I've gotten better and realized I never stopped loving him. Do you..

I've been off work 6 times in the year I have been employed, (in the UK), due to either back pain or chest pain. The back pain is due to a slipped disc. Before I took the job, I made my employers fully aware of this. The chest pain is caused by severe anxiety and depression according to my GP. My boss is happy that the time I have off is genuine, however, he's said that anymore time I have off will lead to a formal 'chat'. He's mentioned that I can be dismissed under 'capability procedures'. However, I made the company aware of my back problems before I started. The depression and anxiety were not really a problem at that point. I had it years ago, but it seems to have returned. At work, I have my own specially adjusted chair which some idiot keeps adjusting making my back hurt.I want to call in tomorrow sick and get myself to the Dr as I'm in a great deal of pain. What should I do, and where do I stand as far as being dismissed?I was led to believe depression is a disability?

I have hypothyroid and have been on medication for just about 7 weeks. I am wondering if anyone knows of any reasons for elevated TSH levels other than hypothyroid. Just curious, you know, you get diagnosed and more and more questions start popping up. Thanks!

I was told today that I have an overactive thyroid and that my levels were way off. Also I was told that I have slightly high blood sugar. My doctor asked my symptoms relevant to hyperthyroidism ie, intolerance to heat, heart palpatations, appetite etc which i have some of however I am overweight and have been for quite a few years. I have within the last three months started to exersice and I mean really exercise and strength train. I'm losing inches but only a few pounds. Not only that I have several symptoms of hypothyroidism I think which the doctor didnt ask me about. He has me going for a thyroid scan next week but is there something I am missing? I filled out a sheet with all my symptoms but I feel like he didnt read them. How can I be overweight and have hyperthyroid? Will I gain more weight if I take the meds to correct this?? Help!!!?!?!?
