Nope, it does NOT mean a deficiency..
Nail biting is the expression of anxiety, that is acted out by a physical act that disperse the anxiety.....puling hairs (trychotilia) and biting nails (onychophagia) are just two examples of those..
No deficiency causes the symptom....
