im an amateur boxer and spar 3 times a week. my left kidney area hurts a lot today after last nights training. Is there any risk? What other health threats do i face?

Kidneys are highly vascular organs, which means that they have a large blood supply. If injury occurs, severe bleeding may result. I would say that you have a bruised kidney. You should go to the doctor if the pain gets worse or if you develop other symptoms such as blood in your urine.
