Hello. My mother has fibromyalgia and is in constant pain on a daily basis. She has tried Zoloft which worked for about a year, and then stopped. Amitriptyline helped her sleep but gave her a hangover. Effexor XR helps with her emotions, but had not helped with pain at all, and Trazodone helped her sleep, but made her very dizzy the next day. Anyway, long story short...I was wondering if anyone here has been successful treated for the pain of fibromyalgia...and what it was that worked for you. THanks

For the past 3 years I have had severe leg pain. It was gotten worse over the 3 years. Last november I started having swelling. Sometimes my ankles will be the size of my knees. I am currently on up to 180mg of morphine daily so that I can function and work. I am also on Lyrica and cymbalta for nueropathy. I have seen a neurologist, a vascular specialist, and had tethered cord realease surgery done. I had Spina bifida when I was born and had tethered cord syndrom. I have run out of ideas of where to go next. I am tired of being on the meds. I gained 65 lbs in less than 3 months, which can't help with the pain. I also had a rheumatoid factor that came back extremely high, but since the other blood work has all come back normal the rheumatologist doesn't want to do anything. I need Ideas or suggestions. I'm only 24. Thank god my husband is very understanding and helpful, he has had to carry me into bed sometimes because I can't walk. I need some ideas. Please!!

I need to obtain my medical records from infancy for current re-evaluation. They did tests on me 28 years ago that are essential to current diagnosis. (so I'm told). My records were all with a Dr. who is now deceased. Does anyone know how I can find 28 year old medical records? Could they have been destroyed?

this surgery to remove a pool of blood out of his brain due to two falls this past winter,i found out that his alzghiemers has gotten worse since the surgery and I am forced to be his caretaker.my mother is recuperating from knee reconstructive surgery and my brother is a very busy dentist this leaves me with no choice but to handle my dads childlike actions.hes doing things that hes never done before.on mothers day we were invited to my nieces home and as people were getting ready to leave my dad sees this and thought he was home so he started to get ready for bed by unbuttoning his shirt and his pants,iI said dad, youre not at home and he fixed himaself up.thank god no one was in the room! I know for a fact that we need an aide to stay with my father until my mother gets back home,my brother thought of this but never followed through and hes leaving it all up to me.I find this a very exasperating chore because Ive never done this in my life! no matter who iI tell this to,I get hell.

I have constant sharp pain in the upper abdominal area that occurs randomly throughout the day. It so painful sometimes that I have to lie down, but it only last for a few seconds, and is often times followed by another and another. I do not see any relation to food except that it causes me to lose my appetite, or eat a little and feel full. I am very skinny (94-98 lbs, 5'5), and all my friends and family always ask if I have an eating disorder. I do not!!!!! I just can't explain my gradual loss of weight over this two-thee yr period. The pain continues today, and doctors have prescribed antacids but they are beginning to not work anymore. My appetite is being suppressed again and the pain came back. In addition to this, I have loss my period for over two years. I had menstruated at least two times before it stopped. My doctor says that this is normal, but I don't agree. I want an explanation for this pain and my cycle stopping and she treats me like a 10yr old with a tummy ache. Help
