The Dr. gave me the option of getting it over with and having the two surgeries done at once or doing them separately. I would like to just get it over with and have them done together but I have a small child at home and not much help around so I was wondering if the recovery is that bad where it would be make it very hard to take care of my child? The dr. said recovery is harder when the two surgeries are done at once.

i.e. in a needle, in a syringe, on a broken glass, in a sponge left after wipping infected blood. Would the virus live more in a soked sponge with blood than on a broken glass ?

What's the best way to deal with emotional pain? When someone says something offensive and it hurts my feelings for example. Ignoring this kid of stuff doesn't make it go away, it only makes the problem worse.

I have been checked by two doctors and one vascular specialist that cannot find anything wrong.I have also been to an ent specialist that says there is nothing wrong with me..I started hearing a pulse about 7 or 8 months ago in what I thought was my ears but it can't be because when I put my finger in my ear then I dont hear it..Everybody says quit listening to your inner workings of your head..Thats weird because that is the last thing i want to hear...is a booming heartbeat pounding in my head.I have two nurse friends that both say live with it. For everyone that says im a hypochondriac I wish you had what I have whatever it is..It drives me crazy and makes me think that there is an artery about to bust or a anurism or something. Everyone says that its nothing,if not why does it drive me crazy everyday with doing anything including sitting up just a little .I have asked about test and anything to find out what it is ..no such luck they say not needed so what now?

I have had this habit for over 10 years now (I'm 25). I twist my hair so tight that it gets in a knot or I rip it out. And I do it A LOT! The bad thing is that 90% of the time I don't even realize that I'm doing it until someone tells me or I get a cramp in my neck. I even do it in my sleep! I even have a little bit of a bald spot on the underside of my hairline. This action looks like, please forgive the bluntness, but that I'm retarded. I know that it is a nervous habit, but unless I'm subconciously nervous that doesn't make sence. I have tried a few things to stop. As weird as it sounds I've even tied my hand to my side at night, but woke up untied. I did have a major head injury when I was 7 in the exact same spot that I twist. I have only heard that people with head injuries sometimes do things like that later in life. It's like the body never dealt with the trauma when it happened, and it's trying to now. Is there any truth to that? And, is hypnosis worth trying? HELP!

I've been sick over the past few days and haven't really been able to eat or drink anything because I keep dry heaving.

When I go to vomit, I start seeing black spots. Now I see blackness whenever I get up and I feel like I'm going to pass out.

Last evening I had some numbness/tingling in my fingers.
I also feel really weak, am getting a little clumsy, can barely keep my eyes open, and have been having trouble even focusing on my keyboard.

I'm getting a little worried, but maybe I'm just a hypochondriac. Any suggestions as to what this might be?

for a few years now, i have been having overactive bowel movements everyday. when i wake up in the morning, i have bowel movements, then an hour later, i have to go again. i'm fine until i have to eat lunch. right after lunch, i have to relieve myself again. then after dinner, i must go again. this routine repeats daily, no matter what foods i eat.

i am concerned about this because it is extremely inconvinient for me, especially on long car rides, or when i have to goto meetings, etc. is this normal? what can i do to help reduce this?

My husband is 65 and in pretty good health. His blood pressure has been okay but occasionally was 130/90. Last week his pressure spiked to 210/150 and we went to the hospital. They addmited him and brought the pressure down. They did a cardiac cat scan, ultras sound of the heart, several ekg and blood tests. He was discharged and put on 25mg of metratroporal. The next day he went to his regular doctor and he put him on 50 mg. and did a kidney test. His blood pressure was fine for a few days and is now l40/95. He called the doctor and he said to take more medication. Does it take a while to regulate blood pressure? We are at a loss as to what is going on. This is our first experience with hypertension. Do you think all of the tests which came out fine, are enough? Are we missing any? Also, his stomach is upset today, does the medication do this? Should he have had a cat scan of the brain? Thank you very much.
