I was born with one kidney, and i think it is a little bit larger than a normal one to make up for the fact that i only have one. I have not had any complications so far with it.

If you are asking about alcohol, modest amounts do not have much effect on the kidneys because the alcohol is broken down into carbohydrates and water in the liver. The beverages with the worst effects on kidney function are distilled water or salt water - too much or too little intake of salts (potassium, sodium, and phosphorus) strains the kidneys. The other big risk factor is high blood pressure. So as far as drinking goes, if you stay hydrated, and don't drink alcohol every day or to the point of being drunk, then you won't be putting yourself at risk - unless you have a problem with your remaining kidney, then you should avoid all alcohol unless OK'd by your doc. A good rule to follow if you are drinking alcohol is to alternate drinking an alcoholic beverage with a glass of water.

The kidneys are amazing organs and have a lot of reserve. As long as the remaining kidney is healthy there are no worries. However, the underlying cause of the single kidney may be a problem. Was it a transplanted kidney? If so, there are a lot of meds that a person would need to take that would interfere with alcohol, and in this case the kidney would need to be treated very delicately-dont want rejection!

It's best you mainly drink water. I think a good example of this would be the basketball player, Alonso Mourning. Too much sugary drinks, probably some alcohol, and not enough water led to him undergoing a kidney transplant. So it's best that you take care of your kidney by keeping it pure with water. You're diet actually isn't in need of a change, but only if you're one kidney is healthy...

But who am I? I think it's best that you ask your doctor or a registered dietician if you want the best answers :)

Good luck!

Tea
Coffee
Fruit juice (e.g. Orange, Cranberry, etc)
Milk

Alcohol free wine, such as the range by Eisberg

Very low alcohol drinks, such as the range of Botanically brewed soft drinks by FENTIMANS (not over 0.5% ABV)

I especially recommend their Ginger Beer (reputed to be the best in the world) + "Curiousity Cola".

Honestly, you should eliminate all liquor. Your health is too important to take any chances.
